Transmission swap?

Hello,
I'm thinking of buying an e36 M3. Just browsing the online ads I see a lot more automatics for sale than manuals. Wondering if it's possible to do a tranny swap...auto to manual.

Thanks

Normally people search before posting.

It's definitely possible. How good are you with a wrench and instructions?

You'll also need a new DME.

Im in the middle of purchasing an e36 m3 as well. And this idea is very tempting to me, seeing as i have all the parts to do the swap. This is the reason why i'm going to wait for the right 5 speed car: 1. Resale value- the vin is will be an auto m3, which are less valuable in general. 2. If your going to spend your $, then why should you have to settle with an auto trans when its not what you want? But i guess if the deal to you is worth it go for it. Im going to look at an avus ///M today! Wish me luck.

Just get an MT, they are all over the place! With patience you'll find the right one.
