brake failure????

Hi BMW FANS. I was the proud owner of a 2007 x3 until 1 month ago. I had an accident that left may car unrepairable. I am very depressed over this and dont under stand how this could have happened. It was parked on avery slight incline. Brake set and in park. Somehow it rolled down a hill and over a small embankment. When it finally landed, the body was well preserved and still driveable. I had it towed to a repair shop and apparently there was just to much damage. Has anyone heard of a similar situation. I miss my car alot

Both the parking brake was set and the car was in park?? A double failure seems very strange...

Do ou think someone may have hit it and pushed it down hill??

It is highly possible, was there damage on the car consistent with that? i.e. paint or scuffing different from the other damage?

brake failure usually = driver error (just ask Audi of the 80's)

Sounds like a fortuitous event. Now you can replace it with a 2013 X3 35i, which is better in every conceivable way. Plus, if you did that, then you'd be in the right forum.

A good insurance agent will figure this one out immediately. If it is BMW's fault he'll know soon enough.

I dont think it is. Hopefully you get a nice fat check and can start over.
