So.. I want to make an M3 fast.
I drive a 600RWHP Camaro that runs mid 11's or low 12's. I love the speed, but god I'm starting to hate keepnig up with this thing. Every day something else needs to be repaired, replaced or redone. I drive it everyday and it's like too much of a good thing. I LOVE american muscle, the loud exhaust, the raw power, but driving it everyday is just too much.. I'm looking to replace it with something else.
I'm looking at either an R35 GTR (probably not cause of the steeeeep price and maintenance), or some type of M3.. I really like the looks of the M3 GTS, but I dont know much about it. Are they faster than my car, or are they even for sale to the public? I cant find them anywhere. As for the normal M3. Lets assume I buy a 2008-current M3.. How much would it cost to make it as fast or faster than my current car. I've looked at some aftermarket parts and damn they are EXPENSIVE, but I'm not sure how much they improve the car anyway.. Thanks guys. |

OH before I forget, can anyone tell me what the deal is with the orange color I see on some M3's that arent a GTS? I think its fire orange. I cant find it on the BMW website on the configurator so I'm not too sure what that's all about

Fire Orange is also an Individual Color, which means it can be ordered, for a bit more money. I absolutely love it. So much so, I ordered one myself. I pick it up at the Welt June 1st. Funny, I had to give them a "second choice" color. I didn't have a second choice color. If I couldn't have Fire Orange, I didn't know what I'd do. Finally I chose Lambo Orange as my second choice. Luckily, they chose my first choice and that was that.

Oh, and the GTS is/was only available in Europe. I believe they made 250 of them. You'll find quite a few nice BMW models are only available there.

Doubt you can pull as much TQ out of the 4L that you can from a 5.7 or 7.0
So, no I don't think you can be as quick as that. I like HP too but the reason your current car has "issues" is probably the same reason it is so quick. A racer thinks nothing of tearing an engine apart and endless malfunctions. These car companies do not have drooling engineers. True they have different spec, but they wring a lot of power nonetheless. And they do with reliability and reproducibility. The tuners are great, but expect a sacrifice. |
