1997 328i Sedan New to BMW

From Honda to BMW!

Traded my Civic for a BMW lol

hello guys, recently traded my civic for a BMW. Ive been into Honda game since i was 16 (im 20 now) and I think its time for something new. Ive always liked BMW, especially the e30s. I love old school cars and i told myself that if i was gonna get a BMW it would be an e30. But this sedan fell on my lap and decided to trade.

Car came with
-177xxx miles
-check engine light is on
-change brake pad light is on
-torn front leather seats
-angel lens (not a fan)
-bumper is busted (previous owner hit a deer)
-passenger fender is busted (previous owner hit a deer)
-driver side window doesnt have a window regulator
-DIY tint job
-12 inch rockford fosgate sub and rockford fosgate amp
-DVD screen

i know it needs a lot of work but im dedicated to it!

I have those exact same headlights, the car always says "low beam failure" and there is not much diff between lo beam and hi beam. Do you have this issue?

i just got this car but no i dont have any of those issues actually. im actually trading them for a stock headlights. im not a big fan of them.

Take out the OPH and buy a two piece from Umnitza. I have a feeling you'll like the halos from them . I'd replace the bumper with a M3 bumper from DDM. you can find one for about $150 and just bolt it on yourself.

im actually trading the headlights for some stock ones tomorrow!

and yes i bought a fender already and im gonna do some maintenance first then buy the bumper!

Congrats on the purchase, welcome to the Fest. Sounds like you have good taste ditching those ugly headlights, and the Honda looked pretty clean.

I got a new Passenger Fender from one of the shops here in Portland.

just been busy thats why i havent installed it yet.

got an oil change today full synthetic $80 bucks.

car came with a little TV deck under the the climate controls (idk why cause ill never watch anything on that thing)

Pulled the codes for the check engine light.

P1250, P0170, P1423, P0134, P0430 ,P0420, P0505, P1509 ,P1550, P0170, P0505.

i got the codes checked and i think that its my idle control valve.

the idle control valve messes up the fuel and its the catalytic converter thats why the codes are showing.

Im getting a new Idle Air Control Valve, Napa charges $240. im planning on getting one online. idk which one are the all the same?

Nice trade and welcome to the fest, I also came from the jdm world with a 1992 DA9 with gsr swap and all the goodies to go with it....but bmws are great cars to own...I'm 21 and I've owned 2 bmws I'm down to 1 right now which is my e36, I sold my e39 which I miss ...

Anyways congrats....fix it up nice man..

Decided to get another scan of the Check Engine Light. so i went to Napa!

Now only 4 codes popped up!
P070- Fuel Trim (bank 1)
P0430- Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
P0505- Idle Air Control System
P1250- Fuel Regulator Control Unit (BMW specific code)
