HELP: Tras. Failsafe Prog. + YELLOW "brake" warning light?

Hi all,
Just had some work done on the X5 (2001 4.4 w/158k on the clock). Work included a new water pump, and rebuilt front driver side axle boot.

Was driving about 78mph with cruise control on yesterday, when yellow "brake" warning light came on and cruise control disengaged on its own. A few seconds later, Trans. Failsafe Prog. appears. I was able to maintain any speed I wanted, and every gear was available, tranny shifting smoothly. Arrived at my destination, switched her off, then restarted her... lights and Trans Failsafe message disappeared. Let the X5 sit for about 4 hours and had no issues on the return trip. Drove her again today on a couple short trips, with no issues.

Any ideas what I might be dealing with? I'm suspecting something to do with the reinstallation of the axle. Either a wheel speed sensor, or the axle wasn't seated in the front differential properly? Will head to Autozone tomorrow to see if any codes are present.

Thanks,

Well, no faults stored... does that mean it could be a dirty/faulty wheel speed sensor?

Turned out to be a "Brake Light Switch" located under the dash. $40 part.
