Help: X5 After market Head Lights / LCM Problem
Hi there,
I am new to this forum and have tried looking all over the net for a solution to my headlight problem. I recently updated the head lights of my 02 BMW X5 with after market bi-xenon lights (comes with LED halos). My car previously had HID night time lights and halogen DRL. After installing the after market lights, the LCM seems to be trying to test the bulbs and the DRL flickers a couple times on start up. Sometimes the instrument cluster panel also goes a bit haywire and flickers. I have cancelers in there. I'm thinking I may need to get the LCM reflashed... Do you guys think this is an LCM reflash issue? If yes, do any of you know of a knowledgeable and reliable place/person near the Chicago area where I can get this reflashed to work correctly without killing my wallet. Thanks. What lights did your X5 have ex-Spartanberg, when it was new?
If you had factory xenons, why do you have cancellers installed? If your HID lights flicker, you can bet the LCM is coded for halogen/non-xenon lights. Even if you code your LCM for xenons (many dealers won't do it), 02 did not support factory bixenons. I believe that option only started in 03+.
