Which Viper alarm should I install? 5701 or 1002?
Hey, I'm looking to purchase an alarm system for my bimmer and after searching around I seemed to notice the brand name Viper mentioned a lot. The general consensus seems to be that they're a pretty reliable brand. I'm not looking for the most expensive alarm just one that will RELIABLY alert me if ****ed iwht, has a keyless entry, and will make my clown nose blink? Which of these alarms should I be installing? Are there any other alarms you guys suggest?

This subject seems to get discussed a lot by noobs....most veterans around here feel that a "noisemaker" alarm is completely superfluous in this day and age, nobody has paid attention to them for 15 years now. Having the clown nose blink will be enough in 99.9% of situations, the remaining miniscule percentage are "smash & grab" knuckleheads who break your window and are gone in 30 seconds, so an alarm really has no value, the damage is done. The REAL key to success is to not leave *anything* of value visible in the car. That includes sunglasses, a pack of smokes, whatever might catch their attention.

My car has a Viper 5902V with a Color SuperCode SST 2-Way Security and Remote Start System. The whole screen is colored and its been tested. It worked for me and I would recommend it for sure. was around $300 bucks. Not bad some great piece of mind.

That's probably the main thing I want from an alarm, the clown nose to blink. But I need a cpu to activate that don't I?

Any suggestions on what I should do in the idea of getting my clown nose to blink and getting a keyless entry system.

It`s already in the car, it just needs to be activated by the dealer or an enthusiast with the proper software. You can make the clown nose blink, and the parking lights flash when you "activate your alarm" by locking the door....
