I'm always excited to take any BMW not belonging to me onto a track.

The article makes mention of which school events feature the new F30, but doesn't mention if the F30 is used for regular delivery driving events. I take delivery of an F30 328i next month - does anyone know if my driving event vehicle will be an F30 or one of the "old" E90s?

You will be driving the F30 - I took delivery this past Friday and drove the F30... You can check out my delivery thread in this section for the videos...

The delivery program always tries to put the customer in the same model as what they are taking delivery of. Should we have a situation where we are delivering a new model and do not have it available to drive in our fleet, you would have been made aware of this when the delivery date was scheduled. In those situations, we would ask you what model you would like to drive.

Look forward to seeing you soon

Do you have an F30 328i sport line in a manual transmission? That's what I'm getting and would love to try that car on the track when I'm there in a few weeks.

Unfortunately we are limited on our fleet size and don't have the capability of having every variation of each model. All of our F30's are 335i Sport Line with the automatic transmission.

The models have to be similar so they can be grouped together to accomodate the various Performance Driving Schools that take place here along with the driving for the PCD program.

Shoot. That stinks. An F30 335 automatic is nowhere nearly the same car as what I ordered. I suppose it's not possible to drive my car ( F30 328i sport manual) on the track?

I would advise against that. I'm not sure their insurance or your insurance would cover any issues, so it likely won't be allowed (also for a multitude of reasons). And I think the main point of it is to give you a taste of improving your own driving ability. And for that, what you learn in the 335i will be perfect. They don't teach things that are tranny specific like heel and toe etc.

I figured. The 335i will be fine.
