Question X5 3.0 Starting Rough

I have never owned a BMW before. Love it! However, it has started idling roughly at first start of the day for just a few seconds. But always comes out of it. Only does it when it's first started and engine is cold. Do I need a tune up? Or does anyone have suggestions on where I should start to investigate. It does have 100k miles....

First thing to do is run a bottle of Techron fuel injection cleaner through it. Accept no substitutes, it must be the Techron or the BMW label fuel injection cleaner which some on these forums say is Techron. You can get it at the autoparts store. Get the big bottle and add it to about 1/2 a tank. The quicker you burn through that 1/2 tank, the better. My theory is that the injectors may be a little dirty and leak a few grams of fuel into the intake while the car is sitting overnight. This would cause a rich start and cause the idle to be a bit rough until the excess fuel is burned off. So the theory is that the injector cleaner will eliminate that small bit of leakage and no more dirty starts. Start with that, it is the easiest and cheapest fix.
