First thing i have to say your car is BEAUTIFUL! both interior and exterior look amazing! Here's a thought, if you wanted to try a black and red carbon fiber weave vinyl for the roof and trunk it might look nice. Again, just a thought. and where did you get the dye and how much of it did you get? Ive been thinking of changing my beige and tan to something else for a while

Thank You! I honestly dont think any vinyl for roof or trunk is good for this color.. I played /w photoshop, it just doesn't flow as a 5er should. Especially with the red being so rare, its clean as is, all naked

The dye was gotten here: http://www.bryndana.com/ ... got 9 cans for the interior seats.

Nice car, great job man. I will like to know more about the dyeing. My interior is the same color as yours was, and my car is white. I was planning on buying all new black interior. Now I may have to give this some thought. Can I get some info on the dye?

Car looks beautiful AX636...

I wonder how that tobacco color would look on my seats with a beige interior. The dash and dooe uppers are brown.

I'll post some pics tonight. I'm actually trading seats from my 530i with my brother's 740i sport. His driver's seat is badly in need of a redye, so this will be the perfect project. He wants comfort...I want lumbar support. We both win!

The E38 will be mine within the next year or so anyways...

I still need to figure out the color scheme. Maybe, I'll just start with the Tobacco seats and see how they look. Then change the door cards, carpet and headliner as I see fit.

No rush, do it right & find the right color combinations! I am debating myself either swapping a whole black interior into mine or simply do a few door inserts (black) with the dye used by Az636 & make it a 2 tone interior, since my floor mats & the back portion of my seats are already black and is already the scheme w/ my interior. Though, I need to do a bit more homework on this as I am also questioning the dye’s durability and if it is heat resistant or what not!!!

So far I can vouch, that it's def held up to heat and durability. I guess I'll wait 6 months and come back, but so far about a month in.. its held great..

Thanks for the pictures, Az636. The colorbond stuff really works nicely. I am kinda dissapointed with the color. I thought it would be a little more "Red" than that. I would definitely use the Blk and make my gray interior 2-tone. I would need to find another color for my Z32TT with blk interior.
