Angel Eye Wiring

Hey guys so I finally ordered my DJ Auto headlights for my E36 with LED Angel Eyes and want to wire the Angel eyes to an independent toggle switch in the cabin and was wondering how to go about doing it. I have the blank slot where the traction control and other switches would normally be located and figured I could simply put a toggle switch in there. I would want to have it wired so that the switch will have power once the key is turned and lose power when its removed to prevent accidental battery drains. Oh an much to our surprise I placed my order on April 23 and according to UPS it sill be delivered tomorrow. I ordered them thinking that it would take a while for them to ship and get to my house but now they are going to be home four weeks before I get home
Thanks

Wire a control circuit off the power feed for the radio, which is only on when the key is on. Feed that to control the load side of a 12v relay that will actually supply the power the AEs. Fuse everything.

Hey there

I got some pre-installed angel eyes and dj auto headlights. Just bought the Dual fog switch because i'm going to control my angel eyes with the rear fogs button. I just wanted to know if anyone has done that..

Its been talked about at length on here, but I don't remember hearing anyone that actually followed through on it. I think it would be the most elegant solution.

Any errors in this post are purely Swype's fault, not mine.

^ If you do actually do it, break the cycle and post a DIY guide.

UPDATE!!!

WELP looks like i finally made the independent switch/Relay for my angel eyes@@

I Wired it up just like the picture above and man did it work.. i was a bit skeptical but as soon as i pressed that button bam they is on!
I film a crappy vid with my phone quickly showing the lay out just for testing purposes.. .. but one of my angel eyes didn't work driver side low beam.. *Bummed*
but other than that i was stoked that i hooked up the switch. I'll try to upload the vid.. me flippin the switch on and off.. lol

I'm a little unclear on the red wire in the diagram, is it wired to a direct 12v supply from the battery, always hot?

Also, the way you wired it doesn't appear to shut off with the car, correct? So you'd have to turn them off each time you turn the car off and turn them on each time you turn the car on?

yeah that is true both wire are indeed hot i might need to wire one to the Window washer(I think i read it somewhere) but pretty much this was for test purposes and yeah i guess if you forget to turn them off they will stay on.. other than that i guess you can say i'm half way there?..
