Did some more work today took off the front bumper and supports but hit a wall when i got the front cross member as there are spot welds holding it on at the bumper mounts. Ill have to get a spot weld drill bit and get to it tomorrow or next week

Finally got the that one door stop pin out ended up cutting it off flush then pounding it out with a bolt. The last two came out without much fuss once i realised theres a little tab that you need to push in to allow the pin to get out. Oh well im learning haha.

NKG platinums. Their not the OE BRK6EQUP plugs, a step down. I needed to pay to ship my shock to Koni so I kinda cheaped out. But I will probably return them for the OE ones.

We did. I re-tightened the plugs and the coil packs just to make sure. I'm hoping it's just because the car hasn't been run over the winter.

so i started taking the interior apart on the weekend and got most of the hardware that holds the headliner in place taken off. all the weather stripping off the door sills and what not. got the rear seats out, i'll take them home and try to restore them over the winter, same with the front seats. i might have to have the drivers seat recovered in some spots but it will still be cheaper then buying new ones(i hope). plus I would love to have the seat re-stiched with the M-Colors, so hot. anyways got a few pictures of the car after I finished removing the seats today. found a small tear in the rear seat right under the armrest, cant even see it when the seat is installed but it will need to be repaired none the less to make sure it doesnt get any bigger. I got my rocker panel sitting in the corner in the picture where the seats are on the roof. I got though the spot welds on the rad support, well 2 of 4 before the cutter dulled out. I went and ordered a proper tool with proper cutters today, princess auto is good for some things and not for others. anyways theres my update for today. I had a few questions to put out there. is the M3 side skirt just a plastic cover? or are the rockers actually formed that way. and whats the deal with these EBAY aluminum rads? any good? has anyone bought one?
thats it, have a good night everyone

If your gonna get al aluminum radiator I recommend the Mishmoto ones. They are one of the best for the E36 and come with a lifetime warranty. They can be ordered from several retailers but can also be found on eBay from them for under $200.

Looks good so far. What's the current plan for it in regards to removing the interior?

+1
Mine is solid. It doesn't have any stupid plastic parts to crack and break.

And the M3 side skirts are just plastic covers. There are two kinds, however. The "twisty" kind is what most people prefer, and these came on the M3s with the sport package. Then there is the non-twisty skirt, which came on the Lux package M3s, and the sport package non-Ms. For example, my sport package 328is has the same skits as the lux package M3s.

So ive done alot since my last post. The seats, sun roof pan, all weather stripping, head liner all out. My ebrake is half seized from sitting so long so i took off the one wheel (thank you 5 foot breaker bar) that was making all the screeching from and ya i can see why it made so much noise. The rotor was almost solid rust. The pads were almost new to... Oh well. There garbage now. The shocks are koni and seem to be working well although a little rusty. The springs are eibach and dont really know if they are good or not but the look ok. The interior came apart suprisingly fast i bought some trim removal tools from princess auto and they proved invaluble just a tip for anyone taking apart an interior, buy the tools and you will break still clips, Lots of clips but you wount break your trip peices, but i managed to break my rear door sill peices, they were so brittle i swear if you brushed with slippers while getting into the car they would break. Anyways here a quick pic of the rim all cleaned up and the rotor and shock. Also a pic of the interior.
Have a good one i will hopfully pist more pictures tomorrow and then its off to BC For vac time!

I know how you feel. This was my rotor after sitting over the winter:

Looks pretty bad, but it was all surface rust. This is what it looked like after full cleanup:

I plan on picking up the door trim set from Princess Auto too. I have to take my door panel off soon. Did you get the $15 Power Point set with the red ones?

That streak across the disc at 5 o'clock isn't surface rust. It's pitting. Didn't you get pedal pulsation?

Thats from where the pad was. The car sat over the winter and developed rust as a result. It wasnt driven like that.

Yeah, I knew it was from where the pad rested. Have you driven it since the clean up? I think I'd have done a very light skim over the disk on a brake rotor lathe.

No I haven't driven with it yet. I was going to get them done on a lathe but the cheapest I found was $25 Each rotor! I couldn't justify spending the $100 to have them done. I'll make sure I'm really careful when I first try them out.
