2008 550i CPO Price check

Hi guys,

Just sold my m3 and looking to get into a 550i with m sport, nav, sport auto trans, and as many other options as possible.

There aren't many CPOs in my area with 30/40k miles. I don't mind traveling to find the right car. What do you think I can expect to pay? Saw one dealer in Miami asking 37k for an 08 with 33k miles, seems on the high side though!,,

That is not on the high side. That is correctly priced.

37K is high if you take time to study the prices on the 550s. Do a search on cars.com. If you're going to spend 37K, you may as well check the '09's. There are quite a few listed in the mid 30K price range with 30 to 40k miles. Most are the dime a dozen black. There a few lighter colors which can be had...

thats a pretty good price depending on the options. i think the low would be 34k depending on the color, options, and miles and the high looks to be about 43k. but since you are wanting it fully loaded you are going to be somewhere around 38-39k.

i dont see any certified cars for under 40k that have everything he is looking for. there are only a few but none of them even have the sport package.

I love how people just jump in and say that price is too high, probably after they've strolled the ads for 'mint' 550's for sale in and around Queens Boulevard. A well kept, highly optioned, CPO '08 550i with M Sport and 40k miles from a reputable dealer will run you high 30's to 40k.

i agree, you could ask if $10k for a 2008 M5 is a good deal and someone will say "i saw one for $9k in my area last week". prices fluctuate, and some areas are cheaper than other. not all cars are optioned the same either. maybe the car they bought had been on the lot for a month so they saved $4k off the original price. so many things factor into the equation. but the one constant is that someone bought the same car for less money.....yesterday.

+1. That estimate is right on the money. Anything less......and I say that you are rolling the dice.

FWIW, I just bought my '08 550i with Sport package, m-wheels, navigation, new tires and brakes, but with 50,800 miles for $32k. I looked for about a year before finding exactly what I wanted for the right price. Bought it from a Jaguar dealer in Las Vegas.

figure about $2-3k for the miles he is looking for, plus about $3k for the CPO warranty and you are right on track for what chelseafc and i have been saying.

btw- i am not arguing with you, just pointing out how we arrived at the price in the high 30's

Yes you could add about 4k onto that price if it were CPO which puts it at 36k with 50k miles, about right.

There is no reason why the OP should pay a penny over 35K for a loaded '08 CPO M Sport 550 with approx. 40K miles. Below is a link for one I found in under 60 seconds for $34,995 with only 41K miles at a BMW dealership. Mind you, $34,995 is the asking price so they can probably be bargained down a bit.
I find it amazing how so many clueless people and posters on this board don't realize that a car can be overpriced by $2000 or more.

Sh1tty interior colour AND 3 owners is what's keeping that price down. That's how us 'clueless' folks weed out the lower priced & less desireable cars.

Plus you don't know if it has Logic 7, Heads up, Cold weather, sat/ipod etc. I actually wanted beige when I first looked for my 550i as I was a getting tired of the black and dealing with the dust. After one test drive in a beige interior BMW I said He## no! It really made me feel as if I was driving a family sedan. The color was just too sedate for a sporty 550i.

This is an interesting discussion. I think 35k for 40k miles is not that hard to find, the tough part is finding reasonably priced cars in the 25/30k mile range

I actually like this color combo- I live in Miami and dark interiors get -really- hot during the summer. . Anyone in the area who might be able to drop by and look at this car? I'd pick it up and probably drive it back...

The color combination is great. Interior color has absolutely no bearing on the price. The fact that this was bought up shows the level of stupidity on this board. The car also IS equipped with CWP, but one poster doesn't know enough to be able to tell. My guess is the car also has logic 7 and sat/Ipod. You can call the dealer and check. I don't see HUD, but then most of the overpriced cars the inexperienced kids mention don't have it either.
I've checked a few cars in the New York area for other posters but this one in NJ is a little far for me. I would suggest calling the dealer for more details and possibly negotiating even a lower price. Some dealers will pay your airfare if you can make a commitment to come up and purchase the car. In a nut shell, this vehicle is definitely properly priced.

It has L7 and iPod. No HUD but I can live without it. Do you recommend a third party inspection or can I feel safe buying a CPO from a dealer?
