Hi,

Is Audio streaming via bluetooth offered in the F10's as I know it's available in the F01 7 series?

If yes, and given I do not see the option in my iDrive, does it therefore need a software or a hardware update to enable this feature in the F10? My car's build date is Jun-10.

Appreciate your feedback on this.

Yes it is available. If you are wanting to stream from your smartphone, you need to go into the CD/Media menu, click on the paired phone, and click on the configure menu and the check the appropriate box. Or you could use the owners manual. The bluetooth streaming capabilities are pretty impressive. I can have the phone in the house and still listen to my music in the car while it is in the garage.

I have tried this and there is no such option in my car. I agree with what some of the others have said that bluetooth audio streaming is only available in builds from 09/10 onwards.

Is that also the time when the LCD instrument notification display was widened to full width? I always wondered why the F01/02 had full width display while the F10 released afterwards were deprived leaving the speedometer bottom blank, thanks that it has now been filled to match that of the F01/02

The only downside I found with this feature is that it will not display the media tracks available on your smart phone to allow you scroll through and select the specific one you want to play. Other than that, its pretty cool.

True. I usually just put the iphone in song title/random mode, and then click forward on the nav menu if I don't like the song. The sound quality with the premium sound pkg is pretty decent.

I've been using it with Pandora and ESPN, I have a new 550. Putting the phone in the cradle with Pandora on is pretty cool, full Pandora functionality via iDrive.

OP already mentioned that his car was built in June 10. I do NOT believe BT audio streaming is available with the cars built before September 10.

Tell us what car and year. That will help. But I’m guessing it’s the symbol for not having a phone in the arm rest connector. Of course you could always download the owners manual and check that.

That symbol is for the snap-in adapter. The one above it is for the USB connection.

Hi, was driving my 2014 BMW 520d on the highway (80 kml). Got a drivetrain malfunction on the idrive, took it to my mechanic. After diagnostic test transmission sensor also the fluid needed changing, took out the sensor clean it and change the oil and filter. Got the car back the next day after a day of driving error code came back.

Back at the mechanic diagnostic test says gear selector switch. The guy I bought the car from about 6 months ago spill coke on the gear selector and ashtray......I'm hoping just replacing the selector will be the end of it. Mechanic says works case would be the mechatronics......any ideas?
