E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

BMW e30 soft top removal?

I have a 1989 E30 convertible. Top is new and was wondering if I should remove the frame and top to accommodate the install of a hardtop for a few months. I'm just worried that the soft top rear window will crease over time if folded up in its down position.. Is this an issue over Time? Regards

Welcome to Bimmerfest!

I'd leave the soft top in place. Just make sure the window is clean and folded properly before installing the hardtop. You are very lucky....those hardtops for the E30s are pretty rare.

Roll up a towel and place it in the fold of the window. It should keep it from creasing and being scratched. If you want, you can also place one on each side of the window. It will have to be a thin, but soft, towel so that you can still close the tonneau cover.

Where did you find the hardtop and for how much? I saw one on Craigslist for $350, but it need it fabrication work as it was missing a hug square out of the top.
