Exhaust bracket broken 2008 320d convertible)

Just got the car serviced and they told me the exhaust bracket had broken. They are saying that it's not covered under warranty, is that fair? Just want your opinions. It's £11 for the part, and £44 for labour!

I have extended BMW warranty as the car is over 3 years old now

Which bracket? If it is the one behind the muffler, at the tail pipe end, it usually breaks when you bottom out the rear, such as when going up or backing out of a steep driveway. Look at the bottom of the tail pipe for flattening or scratches.

A lot of times a welding (or muffler) shop can fix it quickly and easily, maybe even for what you would pay for the bracket alone.
