From my experience on these boards, Karl is just very direct. Not everyone sees that objectively and some take offense. All part of normal social interaction. You just have to be careful here because the moderators will ban you if you cross the line.

Glad to hear. I've been told that I've a wee bit o' a temper meself.

So long as we can all acknowledge our own brand of general deutschebaggery, then at the end of the day, all is well.

Kaos 325i, I was very pissed when I read your post, but now that you have apologize all is well...you will find that on the E36 forum 98.999% of us are not rich judgmental assholes, but people of all ages trying to help eachother out with all sorts of questions. All the info provided is just to attempt to give you all of the info we believe will benefit you in making your decision on buying the salvage vehicle in question.

Honestly, and I'm not being judgmental here, but of all the BMW models, E36 owners are by far more "salt of the earth". Most are driven by kids or people under 25.

lol Thank you. I had to change it to that with the actual wording for 'shower bag' to be censored.

Don't you know the most popular car for that demographic is the Audi TT?

And is there anyone that we know, say from the Bay area, that keeps buying Audi's against their own admitted better judgement?

Someone who has a good cover story, like a wife and two kids?

Who could that be?

Hold on there now, my Audi has for doors and a roof....that's not the right car for that demographic at all. And where does a gas guzzling SUV fit in?

On the other hand, a BMW convertible fits that to a "t".

Sorry Chad, we didn't mean to out you here. That said, you are among friends, you don't need to hide yourself here.

I mean, it's not like any of us (Randy aside) are in Brit's social network...

Lmao. This is hilarious. I am going to start calling shops and places where the car is for sale and see about the ppi.

I really want an e36 m3 sedan so bad I can friggin taste it, and woo buddy it tastes sweet. But I am trying not to be rash or impulsive.

I appreciate everyone. Sorry I lost it earlier.

The hood looks as though it doesn't quite line up right. Make sure you ask what the extent of the damage was, and where it was repaired. Still take it for a PPI.

You Canucks just crack me up....

Look most of the people on this forum are extreamly knowledgeable about these E36's and the age of all of us range a bit. Honestly if that car has frame damage stay away not many body shops can fix that properly I know because I used to work in one. besides when metal is modified like when you bend a piece of wire back and forth quickly it will become weak and breaks, same sort of deal hear, the metal that makes up the subframe has been bent not once but twice so that area will NEVER be as strong as it was before. Also like Karl said if you have to take a loan out for this car then make sure it has had everything done so you don't have to do it right away.....Parts for M3"s are sometimes ALOT more costly then just a typical 3 series E36. M3's are fun and fast but you better have the money to fix it when things break, and they will break. There's an 97 M3 at a lot here for $7k and has all of the paper work of what has been done to it. The prior owner just spent $6k rebuilding all of the suspension, and it doesn't have a salvaged title, it is very clean inside and out. 175k on the OD.
