Average age of 5 series driver

How old are most drivers of 5 series? We are in our 50's and are very curious as our 30 year old son is thinking about getting one.

I remember we had a good thread (many people responded to it) on it... If i remmeber it correctly most of them above 40 few in between 30 and 40 and very few below 30...

Age shouldn't restrict the fun

I was 29 when I got one. I think the average around 40's on this forum based on the last poll.

It depends on his financial situation not his age. However, typically this is an very expensive car for someone in their 30's.

Currently 31 and got my first 5 series when I was 27. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm driving a 5 series 5 or 10 years from now. I think it comes down to personal preference. . . The funds help too, but you can spend the same amount on a top end 3 series as an entry level 5 series, and the same on a top end 5 series as an entry level 7 series.

30 here. Bought a e92 335i 4 years ago. Was gonna wait for the F32 to come out but got impatient and loved the looks of the 5. e92 was definitely more fun to drive, as I've dreamed about driving it 3 times now since I sold it (no joke). To add salt to the wound I've seen my exact car on the streets of LA twice now.

Instead of driving my F11 this last week I spent quite some time on an Iseki tractor mowing the field and an Yamaha quad exploring the French forest roads
Maybe just because of that I am feeling like 80 years old, a lot older than I actually am.
When I was thirty I liked a more sporty car than the big comfortable F10 sedan.

That's my thought for him. It's a beautiful car, but for a single guy it makes no sense to me. I would think he would like something more sporty.

He says he doesn't want another 3 as he has had 2 already. An 07 328i sport and an 09 335i with mt. We told him to get a coupe or convertible as that would be different, but since the dash is the same as his other 2 he says it will be like driving the same car.

I don't know if it is intentional but check the posters from BMW for 5 series or for that matter M5 .. You will see a matured with little grey hair on the sides standing on the side in suite???

I never see a poster with a young guy in shorts and polo screaming i want this power??? what are they are trying to tell ? these cars are for only matured 35+ individuals?

This would kill me. I still miss my E46, and question giving it up. As my wife points out, I don't even have 1000 miles on my 550 after 2 months, so either the 550 would be sitting or the 330 would.

Still feel a stab every time I see a silver 330i

Quite a predicament!

If it has to be a BMW; Z4?

How do you figure? You should be well into your career and probably half way to retirement in your 30's.

But well, in this line up of previous cars at his age, it also could be time for a nice 911!

Don't know what he is going to do. Z4 could work for him, but I think he wants 4 seats. He is currently looking at Lexus so we are waiting for a text on his thoughts. He really is a BMW guy, but just doesn't know what to do

He is looking at a hybrid, the CT200. Wants good gas mileage for his commute to work.

For that we drive around in rather boring middle of the road diesels overhere.
He might keep the money in his pocket, drive the 335 a 80 k miles longer and spent all the saved up depriciation on gas.
And after that I am sure there will be a nice new M3 on the market.

No, thinking about it, I would go for the 911, now, before it is too late!
