535i engine problems-still buy the car?
Have been reading up on the N54 & 59 engines and now am getting concerned about purchasing anything prior to 2011.
Or is all the media 'hype' just 'that' ?! media-hype on 'some' that had problems but not 'all' in the line i.e. 2010 535's.(only model we're considering). Has anyone purchased a re-sale 535i 2010 and found the turbo situation 'not' a problem? thanks in advance ...

This site is littered with dialogue surrounding previous problems with high pressure fuel pumps for the 535 engine. (N54)
BMW has rebuilt the pump several times and stand by the issue. The latest pump is working fine for almost everyone. If it fails, BMW replaces it for free. I have 2 5 series from 2008, no engine issues whatsoever. I push my sedan pretty good with twice the normal pressure on the turbos. No issues. All cars have issues, they require maintenance. Especially a BMW. If you stay on top of that it will last many years. I am driving a loaner 325 wagon now. Just realized it has 200k miles on it. Hilarious. It has many good years left in it I am sure.

+1 The new iDrive is great.
The F10 535 comes with a single turbo version of the N54. It is called N55. Same engine, just single turbo that is larger. Same power.
