Since you live in FL and if you don't drive the car to colder climates, I would go with a good Summer performance tire. Go to tirerack.com and read the surveys and reviews. There are a lot of good tires out there. Personally, I am not a fan of runflats but some folks like them and they do provide some security if you have a flat.

The newer generation runflats are a lot better than the earlier ones. Michelin, in particular, makes a good one. Unless you want more grip or a different look, there is no need to upgrad to a larger wheel/tire. I would not get a larger tire for your current wheels than the OEM sizes. BMW engineers have properly sized the wheels and tires for the suspension on your car.

I just put a set of Hankooks on one of my BMWs and for the money they are one heck of a tire. They are all season tires because it gets cold in MD.

Good luck.

A friend of mine trashed the RFTs on his Z4 and replaced them for Michelin Primacy MP4s (all season performance) and loves them.

I would be very careful to not damage the wheels, in case you get a flat, not to say that unless you carry a doughnut in the trunk (and nothing else), you will also walk back home.

The night before last I watched a video on velocity TV. The video was some Yokohama engineers talking about tire sizes and they definitely know that the new rage to bigger and bigger wheels and tires is detrimental to car handling, acceleration and ride. They didn't recommend anything bigger than 18s. Now I'm considering selling the 19s on my Z4 and going to 18s.
