VIN structure change for F25?

I got my VIN for my X3 (on the train across the US, due in to Oxnard on 13 May).

I tried to look up my VIN and found several links, but nothing seems to match mine.

First part of VIN is 5UXWX9C53D.......

Any new charts on how this maps out?

It looks normal to me.

5 is manufactured in the USA.
U is BMW USA.
X says that it is an SAV.
WX9C5 are vehicle attributes. (My 35i is WX7C5)
3 is a Check Digit.
D is the Model Year, with D being 2013 (My 2011 is B).
11th position is the Plant Code for Spartanburg (mine is L).
12th-17th position are a sequential number.

Donno, my insurance company could not enter a the VIN for my car into their system... they had to do a manual override to issue the insurance for my car.

What was your source for this? I checked quite a few and could not even find a match for 5UX. My plant code is 0 (zero).

My source was a quick Google through Wikipedia and Bimmerfest. Some posts list M as an additional Plant Code for Spartanburg, but I didn't see any reference to 0 or O as a Plant Code. 'Course if BMW wanted us to know the VIN breakdown then they would make it easy to find.

Much of the information that is on Bimmerfest is dated, so I didn't get a good breakdown on the vehicle attributes during my quick look.

If you want to retrace my footsteps or go beyond what I found then try doing a Google for VIN WIKI and 5UX VIN.

Hmm. Is that what your actual VIN is, or what the dealer told you that it would be?

W is Germany
B is BMW AG
A is Munich
WY710 are the attributes
0 is the check digit
0 Neither 0 or O are a valid model year identifier

They're building X3s in Munich now?

Or perhaps European VIN coding is different than North American.

When I input my last 7 digits @ http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/acc...catalogue.html
It finds my car..
It was manufactured yesterday and it has WBAWY71000XXXXXXX but as you stated the 000 is strange
The car is for Sweden..
