DEF fluid. Price $

Hello there. For the guys & gals up here in Canada. Found this at princess auto. Jug 9.46L (2.5gal)$17.99 of the DEF fluid sku no. 8466278. Also Canadian tire carries it as well jug 3.78L (1 gal) $8.99 sku no. 38-0825-0 . Wonder if this is a good price? When the reminder comes on how much will go into reservoir? Just because I heard that after a container is opened doesn't stand long if not put into sealed reservoir. I think its alot more at BMW dealer, not sure how much?

That's a great price. BMW dealer will provide the lube for you before buying the 1 gallon bottle at their price.

Damn, I may save money by driving to Canada and back to buy DEF at that price!

You can buy it at most of the larger truck stops. Bring your own container. Last time I bought it was $2.79/gallon. They have pumps that look just like diesel pumps. Go to the area where the big trunks fill up and look for the sign. Those babies take many gallons at a time and you can rest assured they are not paying the prices that BMW charges. DEF is DEF, it's all pretty much the same.

Hagerstown sits at the intersection of 2 major interstates so we have several large truck stops in the area. Pilot definitely has the DEF pumps. I see that the OP is in Canada so it could be that DEF is a lot more expensive than in the US. I don't think it is subject to any special road tax in the US similar to diesel fuel.
