Mobridge iPod Interface
I bought the Mobridge iPod interface a while back and had it installed. Searched long and hard for an attractive, compact iDock I could place between the instrument cluster and the Idrive screen, right behind the windshield wiper stalk. Perfect location.
So far I have one rigged up on a small steel bracket, but it is not as flush as I would like due to the fairly deep plug from Mobridge that connects to the back side. Also I ran into a connectivity issue. The Mobridge interface connects to BMW's CD changer, but my car does not have one, nor the software loaded in the central communications center. This means a lot of files need to be added and the only way to do that is via the stealership. I have lined up a friend who works at one, and he will do the programming as if it were his personal car. Otherwise I would be looking at a big bill, likely a fistful of C-notes for something that takes 10 min. tops. I will post pictures when it is all done. Hopefully next week. You gotta have patience with these cars.
