Front tire rub on a 550i

I have a staggered set of Bridgestone 245/40/19s on my front that are rubbing the base of my spring on the inside of my tires when I hit a good sized dip or bump in the road. Normally I'm very careful about going over bumps etc. and I've had these tires on for about three weeks and it's only happened once or twice. (rubbing doesn't happen in tight turns from what i've noticed)

I took off the tire to see where the rub line is occurring and it's about two inches on the inside of the tire. I'm wondering if even a pair of 235s would cure this. Even If I go with 245/35 I might get away without the slight rub. I want to avoid putting spacers on for now because the tires already align perfectly with the car from the side.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a 2007 550i (non sport) The rear 275/35/19s fit wonderfully without any rub whatsoever. I've enclosed a couple of photos for reference. One with the tire on, and the other obviously with the tire off with my keyfob for scale.

Very strange . Do you have the sports version? The tires are the right size for that, but maybe too wide if you added them to a non sport. Either the springs or the offsets may be different between the two models. That would be my guess.
If you do have the sports version, then maybe the springs are shot

It's a non-sport version. I thought it was strange too. How could 245s not fit by a large margin on this car in the front?

I've only had the car for three months. It's under CPO and has also passed a recent dealer inspection. I'm seriously scratching my head on this one because I've seen guys on the forum putting 245/45/19 on with no issues at all.

If memory serves, for 19 inch wheels the correct tire should be 245/35-19. Your 245/40-19 may be a bit on the thick side. That's why your rear sets are fitting perfectly; they are the correct oem size.

Ben is correct on the size for the 19s. The 40 indicates the sidewall aspect ratio or percentage of width to height, so you have roughly 12% taller tire than the 35s. Looks like you need to change out the front tires unfortunately. As you increase rim diameter, you need to decrease the height of the tire, else end up with a larger diameter that the suspension geometry and wheelwell is not designed to accommodate.

245/35/19 for the front And 275/30/19 for the back

I am running 19" x 8.5 VMR wheels with 235/35/19 FK452 Falken Tires with 18mm Macht Schnell Wheel Spacers and the rear 19" x 9.5 VMR wheels with 275/35/19 FK452 Falken Tires with 5mm Macht Schnell Wheel Spacers.
