A/C Odor

Hello,

We bought a CPO E93 and recently noticed odor from the HVAC system. BMW service said they can use a chemical cleaner that costs over $350. Not covered under CPO.

Does anyone know where they spray the chemical? Where Is the HVAC drain hose on the E93?

I'm planning to use a different treatment, but requires to be injected through the HVAC drain hose while A/C is set to high.

Thank you,

Mark

I use Ozium when I start smelling the foul odor, which seems to be every six months going back and forth from using A/C in the summer and heat in the winter. I found it at WalMart a couple years ago. I spray it on the fresh air intakes with or without the cabin air filter installed, and I let the car sit for a few hours. I'll cycle to the different HVAC modes (ie. A/C on and off, recirculate on and off, etc..) after spraying.

I only get this odor when I set the air to be recycled in the car. Any thoughts? It pretty much smells like mildew.

Ok, so far, I've read to spray into the fresh air duct under the micro filter. But I am also reading to spray it in the center air vents.

Does anyone know where the HVAC evaporator core is located? I'm looking for a diagram.

Thanks,
Mark
