flat tire on GY rft
Picked up a small screw today. The tire pressure is down to 10psi. Will take it to the local GY dealer in the am. Question; has anyone had a GY 18 rft plugged? Thanks

technically, rf is not to be patched, even if it's absolutely safe to do so. Although each tire shop will have their own policy in dealing with rf. If you take it to BMW dealers, they certainly will not patch it due to liability issue and with BMWNA

I went through 2 tires (on the same wheel) within the space of about 200 miles. Patching was NOT an option according to my dealer and SA. I am covered with Road Hazard insurance so they just replaced them.

flat tire on GY rft
Call Goodyear customer service and have them give you the address of one of their stores that does RFT repairs. The manufacturer will authorize a single repair on a RFT under warranty due to the limited distance it can be driven with reduced or no pressure in the tire.
I had one of my tires patched about 3 months ago. It's my winter set but I've had no issues to date. The customer service person actually made the appointment for me while I waited on hold. If you have the the wheel and tire warranty or road hazard warranty and they want to replace it, then I would go that route. I had a screw removed and patched in my FY Rolflat by a GY Rolflat store about 15 months / 12,000 miles ago and no issues with the repair. If by chance you are under 12 months you are still covered by the original GY warranty contained on the DVD in your OM / warranty packet. BTW good first post Sean!

Thanks tor the folow-up. I had a similar experience about 13000 miles ago and have had no issues with the repair...mine was covered under the tire warranty which was a bonus...

Picked up a nail in a RF. Took it to a dealer and they plugged the tire after mentioning that RFs cannot be plugged. I told the service guy that I've been around long enough to remember the same comment over the years
for radial tires and steel belted tires. I've never had a problem with a plug on any type of tire. The RF plug is 6 months old and holding well.
