Radio Snap Crackle Pop on certain stations
Hi Guys,
I have a problem that is exasperating me. There was one standard FM station that my radio just couldn't receive properly (94.5 in Bay Area). My wife loves that station. When set to the station, everything would be fine but every 5 seconds or so, there is a loud POP, then silence, then the music fades back in. Then repeat, and so on. Every other car I've owned receives this station just fine. Fast-forward earlier this week, I replaced the battery and now this happens on ANOTHER station. The rest of the radio stations work fine. Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks! |

Hard to say but occasionally the antenna connector gets loose on BMW's. The cars have the antenna in the rear hatch window.
I'm getting some weak reception also. |

Is this KBAY-FM? Does this happen at dawn and dusk or just about any time of day? I am an RF (radio frequency) engineer so these questions are pertinent to determine if this is isolated to a common event or internal to your vehicle.

Hi, Yes, this is KBAY-FM and it happens all times of the day. For a while it happened to 104.5 as well, but that cleared up. Strange...
