Under hood schematic/parts
I've searched but have not found any under hood schematics.
I have been experiencing coolant leaks for a couple of months now and learned that the issue is most likely the expansion tank. I plan on ordering a replacement and have found a nice DIY link from another forum http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/att...7&d=1292123716 I am looking for another that would guide me through the washer fluid system. I have noticed a severe leak coming from one of the bottom openings in the tank. There is a leak coming through one of the seals and I am thinking of replacing the hoses as well as the tank itself. I am hoping to find the parts/numbers needed to replace these. Thanks in advance and thanks for all of the help and guidance in the past! |

Thanks, John. These will be of great use. If you or anyone else has done this before, can you tell me if the "sealing rings" are normally included with the fluid tank? And, if not, any idea as to determining their part numbers? Thanks again

Sorry, no have not done it...but have a look at: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...36&hg=61&fg=45
RealOEM shows part # 5 strainers, so I would say you need to order them |

That's exactly what I was looking for! The leak seems to be happening at the strainer shown on the right.
Thanks for your help and the link. |

Don't be surprised if the leak is in the pump itself. This is a fairly normal failure point that requires replacement of the pump. (they aren't that expensive). Between my X3 & 525i, I've replaced 4 of them this year.
