325i torque converter

When the transmission warms up the TC locks/unlocks at highway speed. I've had the torque converter lockup solenoid replaced and fluid toppes off. I can feel the TC lockup and pull like it should when I hit the gas but as soon as I let off the gas it starts to lock/unlock again. Wondering if anyone has had this problem.

Since no one would touch this post with a ten foot pole, I finally found a fix for my problem. I called an independent BMW shop and they told me about pendulum shifting and there was a TSB about it years ago. Hopes this help other people that have asked this about this too.

No one touched it because so few of us have automatics, and those that do haven't experienced what you've been through. Thanks much for posting back when you found a solution. Please follow up with a subsequent post to report if that actually fixes the problem.

Now since I've found this to be the problem it kinda sucks, since its not worth the expense. The transmission works fine otherwise and doesn't slip so I think Ill just live with it. I've sunk enough money in this thing and another 1500 or more is just to much. Those E90's are looking better all the time over the E46's on my next car.

wow that is a lot of work!!!

and yeah, i agree with ken. most guys have manuals so we're not familiar with this sort of thing. glad that you found the link, though. i'm sure that it would be helpful for anyone that searches for this sort of issue in the future.
