No you won't be able to use the $1000 certificate for this purchase.

Yes, so far as you have the certificate in hand at the time you sign the contract.

Is the certificate part of a 2013 model year closeout or can it be applied to a 2014 purchase?

Not according to the e-mail I received when signing up for the event. It specifically states that orders placed prior to the event are not eligible for the discount.

Mein Auto: 2013 535i - on order
Already Ordered-Can Drive Event Coupon Still Be Used

Now I am confused, some say yes, some say no. I see the text at the bottom of my Drive Event Confirmation email and it does state not valid for orders already placed. Could this be something the Dealer papers over (meaning that they accept the coupon but somehow ignore that the car was ordered)? Does the Dealer lose anything by accepting and applying the coupon?

The Dealer has to submit a claim for the $1,000 certificate to BMW N/A. Typically, the OEM (BMW) will check the order date against the event date and reject the claim, therefore the Dealer would be out $1,000.

Jon - We're looking to lease a 2013 528i in NY/NJ/CT area (we had a 3 series in mind but not 5 series it is). The invoice is coming to $57,915.00 (including 925 destination, maco and training fee).

How much should be the per month lease for a 3 year lease at 12,000 miles/year? Any dealer recommendations in NY/NJ/CT?

Good Deal on 535xi?

I've negotiated the following deal. 535xi, MSRP $62,125, invoice $57,730 including MACO $350 and Training $200. ZPP - premium, ZCV - cold weather, 3AG - rear-view camera, 508 - park distance, 609 - Navigation.
Selling the car at about invoice, using MSD's, Turn Key and $750 loyalty I get a $635 monthly payment including 7% tax. Out the door payment is $4550 MSD's transferred from previous 5 and $1150 that includes 1st payment, plates and .04% NJ luxury tax.
There are awesome deals to be had at a certain NJ dealer this month!
36 mo / 36K mi, 62% residual, MF 0.00078.

I'm curious, what is the current limit on a cap cost reduction and money factor reduction with multiple security deposits? Can a cap cost reduction be combined with multiple security deposits?

Fully equipped it appears we would be looking at a car with over an $80k MSRP. Does the higher MSRP give more room in price negotiation? It seems that since European Delivery cars are not in the allocation the dealers don't get the same incentives and aren't willing to negotiate. Is it the case that reduced payments to dealers offset any advantage of ED? On an MB, were were able to find a few dealers who would discount an ED. MB also had a more aggressive ED program discounting the whole MSRP while BMW would only discount the base price. However, flying into Stuttgart vis Zurich is a PITA. If we did it again we would rent a car and drive from Zurich to Stuttgart, probably quicker overall and less hassle.

I dont't know what you mean by cap cost reduction - money down, discount off the car price? You can reduce your MF by 0.00049 using 7 MSD's. Also you have to add 0.00003 to MF for ED. ED MSRP is 7% lower then US.

Yes, a cap cost reduction is the same as a down payment. It reduces the amount financed.

But question remains remains, can they be done together? Note, the security deposit is much less when the depreciation (sale price minus residual) isn't part of the lease.

BTW, are the lease fees still $795 on the front end and $395 on the back-end?

Is this a good deal on a 2014 528i xdrive?

This will be my first bmw, so pointers from veterans appreciated.

528i xdrive 2014, Carbon black metallic, M sport line, Sport auto transmission, Cold weather package, Premium package, Driver assist, Driver assist plus, Lighting package, Rear sunshades, Harmon kardon sound system

MSRP 67500. Invoice around 62100.
36 months lease, 12,000 miles per year

Upfront (first month): $2550 includes all taxes and fees (break up of this is $925 acquisition fee, $740 first month's installment, $200 registration, $400 docu fees).
Remaining 35 months: $740 per month (includes ~7% state tax)

Another dealer has essentially bettered this quote by $925, saying that the upfront (including registration + misc fees) would be $1600, as opposed to $2550. Please tell me if this seems like a good deal.

I know it is highly optioned, but that seems like a lot of money for a 528. Personally I would rather a lesser optioned 535 for that price.

You can do better - either with 535 or smaller payment... I leased $63.2K 535xi for $635 mo / 36 mo / 36K mi with MSD's and another $1100 out of pocket - including plates, 1st mo and doc fee / luxury tax.

It's not just the sale price, lease quote that you get at the end of the day. you must understand your local market, and how will they serve you. Might not be an issue in larger markets, however when your nearest dealer outside of local is 75 mi. away, you should consider.

If you do a trade and negotiate, perhaps on the new care you should at least be at invoice subtracting incentives. From there out becomes the difficult part. Remember on the low-profiles, it is either you pay up for insurance or ride your own risk. In my experience I could ride the risk despite having insurance. Some of you might not have the benefit.

In small markets, your local call will want to play ball. If they don't , well move towards whomever will. Good luck! It can be difficult buying out of state or region.... If they offer you a better number for the deal and/or trade go for it. Past the sale, the service end wants good numbers too.

However you never knows what the dealer totally has coming towards them. It's always worth to shop cars. If you can handle a 75mi. trip for sales and service, it's worth it! Provided your car isn't a turd.

And who hadn't had a turd?

Good luck and happy hunting!
