Looking to Lease 2014 550Xi

Hi all - I'm new to Bimmerfest. I'm looking to lease a 2014 550 Xi and live in the Columbus, OH area.

If anyone has any recommendations as to a dealer(s) to contact in the Midwest or East Coast who gives good pricing on a car, I'd appreciate the information. Ditto for a reliable internet salesperson.

Thanks in advance.

Richpat69....

There are many dealers in your area between Cleveland and Pittsburgh and surrounding regions that should help....shop them. Dealership service is preferential to those whom buy from the dealership. Sales people will deny it, however if you buy from the selling dealer, you do get preferential treatment. Anyone that says that's wrong is laughable. If you bought some car from a person 1,000 miles away from your local dealer (and they have all the info in their system) do you think you're going to get in ahead of a customer that's already bought a few cars.....absolutely not.

Work with your locals first. It's pretty easy. Pay whatever.....to 750-1000 (or how generous or cheap you feel) over invoice minus all incentives.

Except when your local dealer switches to the "no-haggle" pricing model and refuses to budge on a car for you after you have purchased 3 in the past 4 years from them. Told me that every car they sell, they sell at their established price and during that particular month was 100+ cars....This type of program only benefits the dealer and those that don't care what they pay for cars. Unbelievable.

Gents,
I've "returned" to this forum, after registering last ear and learning a lot before buying my X5M. Now I'm the proud owner of a 2014 535d. Here is what I learned after diving in and learning the market for these:

$1k Eco credit and $2500 cash credit apply on all new OR PREVIOUSLY NEVER TITLED 2014 535ds. I make that point in caps because a few have had dealership demos with various miles that were being sold as used BUT the credits still apply. What I learned is that it's hard to choose a very lightly used 535d given the awesome push by BMW to move 2014s.

Here are the #s:

ALL dealers went $500 under invoice PLUS the $3500 discount ($4k under invoice)
1/2 of them went further, to between $750 and $1000 under invoice THEN ADDED the $3500 ($5k under invoice)

I found a few lightly-used ones at dealerships as well, and negotiating to have it make sense to buy a used one was a challenge. Here are two examples:

1) Dealer 1 had a 2014 535d with 10k miles, never titled, asking $5k under original MSRP (asking $61k when originally $66k). I offer $50k and get the blank stare. I say that an identically-equipped NEW vehicle would be $4-5k under invoice, or about $56-57k given my new 535d shopping. They say it has an elite cert (means little to me, but has small value). They say $57k is the minimum and I agree to just buy a new one (ELSEWHERE of course). They chase me down asking if I can offer more. I offer $52k - which was my realistic max - and they say $56.5k. I leave.

2) That night I find a similarly-equipped vehicle at a different dealership with 6k miles. They are asking $60k ($66k MSRP) I talk with the salesperson before going over. I explain the pro/con/cost of new vs used in this instance, and tell him that my data suggests I could buy their identical vehicle for under $57k. He agrees. We then discuss how much discount I FEEL should be applied to the lightly-used vehicle (in service 7 months, but has Elite Cert), and I say 10%, making my offer $52k. He says they will accept at $52.5k and I drive down, sign, and drive it home. DONE DEAL, and now we are the proud owners of a basically-new, 2014, M-sport plus plus plus 535d. Vroom.

The take away? SHOP SMART! NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO BUY THESE!

New 2014 or 2015 BMW 535d

I currently own a 2009 335d that is Tasman Green. I love my car. I want the exact same car except ...bigger.

Thus, I'm in the market for a 2015 BMW 535d that is Tasman Green.

I understand I have to pay a $5,000 upcharge for the green color. With that said, here's the exact specs I want:

I want Tasman Green. Order code for Tasman Green is A81 correct?

I realize this means I have to factory order the car. Greatness takes time. .

I also want
M Sports Package (ZMM)
Upholstery LCLY
Cold Weather (ZCW)
Driver's Assist (ZDA)
Luxury Seating (ZLS)
Shift Paddles (2TB)
Side and Top View Cameras (5DL)
Parking Assistant (5DP)
Harman Kardon Sound (688)
Rims - I'd like to get 2FV Style 366 rims with the performance run flats that come with 2NB/2ND, if that's not possible I guess 2ND Style 351M?
Tasman Green Paint Job (A81)

You guys see anything that I'm missing?

What about that enhanced USB and bluetooth thing? So do I have to pay $500 extra to get my car to take streaming bluetooth from my iphone (something most other cars do at no additional charge)? What else is that Enhanced USB thing for?

What I'd really like is a bigger HARD DRIVE. 12 GB on my 2009 is too small. I hear the current size is 20 GB? I want a 1 TB Hard drive.

That way I could put all my music on there....plus maybe a couple of favorite movies while I'm at it. .

Also should I get that Bong sound system? How much louder is it than the harmon? I assume it's clearer, which begs this question.....is the sound too good? The reality is that I'm going to be playing mp3s... All of my mp3s are at 320 kps, but I wonder if I get too good of a sound system the songs will start to sound not so good. I'll notice the flaws in the sound format. Now, if I had a terabyte hard drive in the car, I could just upload all my songs in wav format, but I diagress. Not interested in switching out DVDs.

reasonable?

Can someone tell me if this deal sounds reasonable?

Here is the deal....
2014 528xi, space gray, premium package, cold weather package, navi and driver assist package.
36 months with 12,000 mi per year. She said it's almost $60K

I have to put out about $3900 for taxes, fees etc and it's $589 per month. Nothing is rolled in to the payment because I don't want to raise it.
Thanks!

Trebellius - I too have a Tasman Green car (2011 535i) and do like that color. It's not been officially offered by BMWUSA for the past two years (14/15)... where did you obtain info that it can be ordered? I'm curious more than anything, because $5000 for a special order color is a bit steep - maybe $1000 or even $1500, but $5K? Ouch.

Heck, if BMW will paint your car any color, then I'd go for my favorite: Barbera Red

Curious what kind of response you've gotten with your custom build? I would like to order a 2015 535i with the 6-speed manual (the current brochure and the website all indicate it's possible, along with the Modern Line trim), yet neither can be specified in the "Build Your Own" section.

And while we're on the subject of custom builds, can a US buyer request an F11 wagon? I seriously doubt that's possible, at least via BMW directly.

Thanks,
Skibum - Cincinnati

If you are Georgia resident, I will personally assist with your acquisition.

Currently taking custom orders 2 series, 3 series, 4 series and 5 sedans.

All those other brands do it well, But you know BMW does it brilliantly..
