2012 X5 35d Nappa Leather Option

Hello All - I'm going to be ordering a 2012 X5 diesel and I would like the nappa leather option. On the order sheet from Oct 1 2011 it states that Nappa must be ordered with Multi-Seat option and Leather Dash option. BUT, on the official BMWUSA configuration site it allows you to buy the $2400 Nappa option as a part of the Premium Package and then includes the Dash AND Sport Seats as part of the package without buying the Dash or Multi-seat option!! Can anyone confirm this is true and not just a BMW program glitch?
Thanks in advance

This won't answer your question, but it seems as though it is becoming more difficult to configure things on the website. Things are grouped together sometimes when only one of the options is desired.

The website is not always accurate. Adaptive Drive for the X5 35d disappeared from bmwusa configuration site (sometime in April), but the option is still available. Basically, you need to work with a dealer to confirm available options. Some salesmen actually use the bmwusa site to create sample orders, if this happens find another dealer.

This xoutpost thread might be helpful (not my X5):

The ordering guide dated Oct 1, 2011 says that if you add the Nappa option, option 4M5 is also added, which is the leather dash. If you look at option 4M5, it says no charge for it when you order Nappa leather, so you should get both the dash and seats for your $2400.

It also says it will require ordering option 456, which are the multi contour seats, so if that's the latest ordering guide, you'll need to purchase the multi contour seats in addition to the nappa leather at whatever cost that may be depending on your current options. See if your dealer has a newer ordering guide though, I'm not sure if the 35d's has been updated since Oct or not.

For whatever it's worth, I just recently got the Nappa leather option and multi contour seats. Absolutely love them! It's not cheap to add the two options, but if you can afford it. Well worth it!

Thanks all for the input...apparently you ARE allowed to order the Nappa leather without the Multi-Contour seats - go figure. But that adds the Sport Seats, which appear to have pretty bad reviews. Most feel that a must have is the Multi-contour seats, but as Timeslips says, it's pricey when added to the Nappa option...

The multi-contour seats are fantastic! For us, they are worth every penny. They are definitely an option that we will order in the future.

As "the green beast" says, it is worth every penny, however I do agree $$$. Look at it from this perspective. # of miles you plan to drive per week and the cost of the seats / miles =)

I don't regret my decision at all.

Traveling in Phoenix I looked at an X5 with the black Nappa interior. Another commenter noted that to them the Nappa was very similar to what Lexus uses. As a current owner of a Lexus I would definitely agree. I was under the impression originally that it was like a Coach-type leather, but it's not. It appears that they use the same hides, but finish them differently. The leather is definitely durable either way. I would highly recommend that anyone considering ordering the Nappa to find an X5 with it first. For me I'll stay with the Nevada because I prefer the textured finish since its different than what I'm using now.
