SoCal Tint shop recomendations

Hi all,
I've searched through all the threads on here but I haven't found anything about tint shops in my part of southern California (Torrance, Redondo Beach, South Bay area). Anyone have experiences either good or bad from tint shops in the area? Looking for quality of installation more than cheap price.
Any new tech in the tint world? I'm leaning towards ceramic, probably 35 on all doors and 20 in the back.

I had Luxury Glass Tinting do the tinting on my BMW. They came to the house to do it and their price was better than others. I paid $155 for the entire job (back in February 2012); Front driver's and passenger's window 38% tint, all back windows 15% tint. They also have the contact with Bob Smith BMW so they are familar with BMWs. They removed a lot of trim pieces to get to the windows.

These guys are mobile and will come to your work or home. Good Yelp reviews too.

They had 58 reviews and they were all 5 star. Think I'm going to give them a shot. Still trying to decide between ceramic or non, and Llumar vs. Huper-Optik.

Mike tinting in Anaheim. Great tint and specials. What I like about then is that the plan the I got is that if I get pulled over they will take it off and once the ticket is signed off they will install a new tint for free any shade. I have 5% all around with 60% heat protection

Check out G5 in SGV..they are more expensive but from yelp it seems the quality is up there. Going to get my 2013 550i tinted there this Sat.

The shop in Sherman Oaks does nothing else but tint....no other services. Their prices are terrific for the level of personal service and completion rate of a job. Good Luck!!

So, I decided to go with Fresh Tints ( www.freshtintings.com ) in Manhattan Beach. Great reviews on Yelp, and only a mile or 2 from my home. I ended up going with Winco ceramic, 30% all the way around. It's a little darker than I had in mind, but the next lighter shade was going to be too light. Installation took under 2 hours, and they did a great job. Very impressed with the heat blocking of this tint. Verified no problems with comfort access, cell phone, sat radio, nav, and everything else I could think to try. $470 for everything.

Wow for that much you could've gone with Huber Optik.

I think Huper Optik was $130 more, which I would've gone with if I liked it, but it was more reflective looking than the Winco.I really didn't want that mirrored look at all.

Maybe I could have got the job done a little cheaper elsewhere, but the quality, customer service, and convenience to me was worth a few dollars more.

I went to G5 Window & Tint in Alhambra. Got Huber all around (except windshield) for $495 installed.... They have over 150 5 star reviews on yelp. I know it's a bit out for you, but they did an excellent job.

The shop owner had Huper Optik on his Mercedez. Looked nice, but it just looked too reflective for my taste. Maybe that was his Mercedez windows being more reflective, or the fact that it was 20%, but whatever, I'm happy with what i got.

Was that tint a higher end one you got? That price seems steep based on prices I've seen in the area.

What is the lightest tint that will maximize heat repulsion? I don't want to darken the car any more than necessary.

Which brand is recommended?

Johnson Film Universal Black - 50% front and 35% rear

David from Tint-X in Rosemead, CA did a great job at an awesome price

Sounds like you need the premium stuff to get light film but max heat reflection.
Hann @ stmsolutionsinc.com specializes in Huper Optik. He's one of the 2012 Tint-Off competition winners. I would have gone to him if my car wasn't a lease

Is your tint ceramic or crystalline based? I've been told that this type of film becomes brittle over time in contrast to Sunteck IR films.
