I am in Memphis, don't have a F10 yet, but employ an "über nerd" (his term, not mine). He and I have already discussed. He and a friend have done similar on previous cars (think he said Audi and Toyota), already has a cable, so I have already added to his job description "modify boss' car computer" not likely to happen for at least 2 months, but wouldn't mind toying and exploring.

Well, I just enabled BMW Live, and it works and looks just like BMW Online. I don't know if it is just a perception, but it looks way faster than the way it was working before...

I did not enable the plain internet...

By the way, I enabled the TPMS, but I just get a blank reading. I went driving around the block to reset TPMS, but still showing only blanks.

I will see tomorrow if a longer drive sends the information to the computer...

the car has to be started and you have to move the car for it to show up the details it took 5 minutes drive when i reset the TPMS and it took around 1/2 mile drive aftre restrating the car.

Fantastic job! Very impressive!

Almost all of the little quirks and complaints I had about my car will be gone when I get my cable ready.

I am going to start my wish list, hoping that these can also be addressed:

Rain sensor remains activated
Roller blind for rear window comes down when reverse is engaged
Not having to activate auto H every time car is restarted
Close sunroof if rain sensor detects water

JEG23 i think one of your wish can we achieved ... I just found out there is something called intial values for a car and AutoH is one of them..
So we basicaly set it to active so when ever you start the car it come on.....similarly we can do Rain sensor so 2 wishes...But i have to do some testing..

Hey all, have just read all 14 pages! I have been chatting with Shawn on other sites, but now I have found this thread will stay here I think for coding stuff... Much friendlier than some others lol.

I have done some of these changes to my X3, and if anyone in Australia wants help then let me know. There are some new ones here for me to try now.

By the way, I believe that (as some others have hinted) some of these cars TPMS system is only rotational speed based, not sensor based. Should be easy to tell - sensors typically sit in metal rigid valve stems, mine are soft bendy rubber ones, so no sensors in mine.

TPMS - Excellent work on the RDC_SAFETY code! I enabled mine, and it was giving me readings after just a few hundred feet. The temperature though seems unreal, as I had 103 on one corner and 83 on the opposite corner, with the other two around 90. I did not reset the system though, nor drive it long, so I'll try both tomorrow and see if the readings are more consistent. And to think I had written this one off. Thanks.

Gear Shift Indicator / DS S1-S7 - I went back and enabled SPA_ENABLE and SPA_SPORT_ENABLE, and still no S1-S7. I then tried also enabling KI_PIA_SPA, and still no S1-S7. So, since it seems to work on 2011 and 2012 models, and with and without extended instrument display, I'm lost as to what makes it work. My car does not have SAT, and I am wondering now if S1-S7 only appears with SAT?

Interior Lighting Brightness - I enabled HELLIGKEIT_AMBILIGHT, and I got the "Brightness" Slider (-5/+5) on Settings=>Lights Screen; however, like others, it is non-functional. This as I said earlier may only work with the new F12/F13 6-series. Incidentally, I noticed on Mobileum's photo in Post # 243, that on his Settings=>Lights Screen, he has "Home Lights" as an option, whereas I have "Pathway Lighting". I assume his "Home Lights" are the Follow-Me-Home lights, which are the same as Pathway Lighting, but it is interesting to note the difference.

M-Hud - Did you ever look at KOMBI / 3008 PIA_Einheiten / HUD_PIA_M_SPORT? I don't recall seeing that one mentioned, which begs the question. Did you figure out what PIA was?

SLIS (8TH) - Since it is a single camera for SLIS, LDWS, and AHBS, but with SLIS and LDWS sharing a single ECU separate from AHBS, I do not think AHBS will be a requirement to get SLIS working. You need to add Option 8TH to your VO if you haven't already, as that is surely a requirement, before testing your codes, otherwise you will be spinning your wheels. The Video indicates too that it was a Russian SLIS Retrofit, which is good to know for people like me without the Camera.

Auto-H - I wouldn't mind getting this to work, except the fact that Auto-H automatically sets the parking brake when you open the door or shutdown the engine, which is a PIA. Since you are looking at Startup "Initial Settings", let me know if you see one that ensures the parking brake is off.

@JEG23; On the E9x, there were the following two codes:

Rain Close from full open - SHD (FZD) - REGENSCHLIESSEN
Rain Close Sunroof from Tilt - SHD (FZD) - REGENSCHLIESSENTILT

I looked once already for these or their equivalents in the F10, but did not find them. That's not to say they aren't there, only that they are not obvious, and will require more work to find them.

I got caught up at a DC United match tonight and then drinks and haven't had a chance to play. But I just did. I figured out the RDC_SAFETY earlier in the day and glad you did, too, Dream. Works like a treat for me. There was another RDC_CIC option that I left nicht_aktiv.

As for speed limit info, I think I may have cracked it. I'll know for sure in the morning. I enabled everything I could find in HU_CIC and KOMBI and was able to see the red/white circle with (---) in it under BC. But each time I restarted the car having left that active, my BC would disappear.

I just played with the KAFAS module and turned SLI to ON. After writing the code back to the car, the red/white circle changed to a white square with black border, just like US speed limit signs. It appears now in my HUD and in BC. I'll know for sure when I drive in tomorrow. If this works, I will be very happy.

I did try to do that as the decription said it uses High Beam Asistant camera,,, But no luck may be i am misng something else....

AUTOH: Yes i do remember seeing the park brake initial seetings but even if we dissable it the monent we open the door to get in wont the park brake engage?

And what is follow me home lights?
