@alex_c...
Thanks, this is what I have. I am going crimp the net adapter onto the end of the cable tomorrow vs. trying to solder the cables together. I will still have to solder the resister, but less room for error. |

I would I know which version of ISTA/P the car was programmed on? Did the download/torrent include psdzdata V46.1 ? or V45.1? Thanks |

@shaw I did not knew that. Indeed, the stems are in rubber. the trunk is working now. As Dream mentioned, it took some time. I think because I got the error when I tried to code KAFAS, I see that BC stopped working. Last edited by hans_gregor; 05-17-2012 at 06:40 PM. |

Tpms
For those of you that can't get the TPMS to register values, what's the build date of your cars?
The reason I ask is, as we all know BMW changed TPMS September 2010. I'm hoping this isn't the case as I have a pre 09/10 car. I haven't coded the module yet, but will give it a try tomorrow. Sean |

Sean,
We seriously need you in coding ![]() Folks this is the what i found for the pulling speed limits from Navi KAFAS-->3010 SLI_CODING, 10--->EXPLICIT_SPEED_LIMITS no option for vlues only one value preselected wert_01, Werte=03 no idea what to change |

The resistor is CRITICAL. My cable didn't work in the beginning due to a faulty connection of the resistor. You need to SOLDER everything. Remember, you are programming your car at over 10 MBPS via ethernet, and any faulty connection can render your ECU's useless!

Dreamcar,
Trust me I would prefer to be coding but my car is still down with my stereo build and to a lesser point cable builds. It hasn't even been any serious problems. Just small ones like the comfort access antennas being covered in Dynamat, which stops them from working, which means I spend 3 days trouble shooting. Oh yeah...Bimmerfest, don't cover your CA antennas in Dynamat ![]() I'll be back to it in a while, and I have to say...you guys are doing a mighty fine job without me My other question for the community is, is there anyone out there that has coded a car that has had the global update? I saw one today that wouldn't allow coding of the modules, and the car had the update one a week ago. E-Sys connected fine all the way to the CAFD read request, then it threw an error because it couldn't find the correct CAFD folder. Shawn had elluded to this previously that a module won't take programming from out of date psdzdata. I'd like to know from others that have attempted to code global updated cars. @cafee;
The Torrent should have v.46.1 psdzdata. You would only have ISTA/P 2.46.0 or 2.46.1 if you car was programed by the dealer since 03/2012, and then, only if you had the 45.1 psdzdata could you run into trouble. @hans_gregor; Option 316 Power Tailgate was part of the Convenience Package in 2011 and now is part of the Driver Assistance Package in 2012. In order for the Trunk to close automatically, the car needs to have Option 316 Power Tailgate. You obviously have it since it is now working for you. ![]() @Sean; My car was built 09/10, and my TPMS Pressure and Temperature is working (although my Front Left Tire seems to run about 8 degrees hotter than the others. )Is the new Global Update newer than 2.46.1?

EST Coding
OK I admit it, I've been slacking on the coding bit.
I've had a few things going on as you've read and I wanted to test a few things, so... I'm looking for a couple of Java programmers to take a look at E-Sys 3.20 and the EST (token) we have. If someone can decompile the EST and see what the dependencies are that 3.20 is looking at within the EST (token) we may be able to get to a point where we can generate our own ESTs for future versions of the program. I've loaded 3.20 up and loaded the psdzdata on a spare laptop I have. Aside from the directories being different it seems to load up fine on my laptop. I can connect to the car, open the vehicle order, open the SVT and CAFD. As soon as I ask it to read the FDL it asks for my PIN, which it seems to accept and then errors out. I'm going to ask a friend of mine to look at it, but I'd like the other programmers to look at it as well. It looks like E-Sys is completely Java based so hopefully someone can pull it apart and start getting us ready to upgrade. Here' a link to E-Sys 3.20 https://rapidshare.com/files/1371711..._RC_b31814.rar I think the password is: digi I'll update the password tonight, but try digi for now. I can't open it up at work and forgot it had a password when I uploaded it. Last note for you Apple folks. I ran E-Sys in a Virtual Machine today on a MacBook with a friend of mine. Made the connection to the car and was able to get up to the point that we were ready to open the FDL. Then I got an error because I was running the wrong psdzdata. It's going to take a while to live that one down. So you can either Bootcamp, Parallels or VM it. Sean Last edited by ImSW1; 05-18-2012 at 07:55 AM. Reason: Added Apple Info |

Shawn - have checked my DYN_SPORT_UNIT coding on my F25. I have SPORT_CID enabled, and SPORT_UNIT aktiv, werte=01. I can change units for the sport displays from KW to HP and it all works fine.
I have also enabled DYN_SYS_CID, but I have no additional displays that are enabled - no climate or battery displays that I can find. ![]() Have also enables SPA and SPA_SPORT but still only have D / DS / M1 - M8, no S1... Last edited by Swallowtail; 05-18-2012 at 01:15 AM. |
