Official F10 Coding thread---Exploring Your F10

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to see if you wanted to transition the thread over to the coding forum that the mods were good enough to create for us. You can create threads based on chassis designation so we can discuss F10 specific issues or other chassis generic discussions.

It's super quiet there right now. I figured with conversations about cheatsheet, Speed Limit Information (SLI), TPMS, HUD and the like, it will be easier to track who's having problems and what in individual threads.

If you want to keep the discussion here, I fully understand that and I'll leave it at that. Here's the forum.

whole_text is hit or miss for me. Some messages I can see it all, and other messages just 3 lines. We need more feedback from others, as so far you and I are the only onces to comment on it.

To clarify, I went through my dealer for the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires; however, since my rims needed repairs, the dealer farmed out the rim repair, mounting, and balancing of the tires to WheelCrafters, Inc., so in that sense it was actually an independent shop. It remains possible though that your Indy messed yours up.

Today, I browsed through the various Caf's, and stumbled accross HU_CIC/Telematics/Browser.
Changed it from inactive to "Internet only", coded. At first, Internet was grayed out in the "BMW Services" Menu. Used the "Update Services" item which made Internet Option accessible with "Not available in yout country". Locked the car, turned on ignition again and : Internet works over my iPhone 4s without any issues !!!
I didn't have to change/add/delete any SA, SA614 is not in the FA-List. That's just awesome to me.

Cn you explain a bit more:
1) Did you just enable the browser or other features too?
2) Did you need a tethering plan on your iPhone 4S?
3) Is it accessing the iPhone's WAN connection via Wifi or bluetooth?
4) Did you lose access to BMW Online (if you had it)?

I just enabled the Browser (only!). Access via Bluetooth Tethering (supported on my 4S by carrier). Didn't have BMW Online since it is not available in Benelux Versions. Anyway, instead of activating the browser via "Internet only", you can also choose "BMW Online & Internet" (which I didn't try since I got no BMW Online).

So again, with E-Sys, I only enabled the browser, didn't add or remove any SA and din't change anything else. In the car, I then updated the BMW Services, locked and unlocked the car and... there was the google screen ;-)

Does anyone know the person who coded the M-HUD into this E60 Diesel? Note that they are using the standard instrument cluster, not an M5 one, so this is purely software it seems.

If someone speaks German, it would be good if you could contact the poster of this video.

Its interesting. I surmise from this that they enabled the M-HUD purely through software.

Tried HUD_M, and got a new menu item in HUD display settings. It was not possible to mark the selection (pic. 1)

Tried HUD_Distance_INFO. This altered the display in HUD and a new meu item, but I could not find out what it actually did (pic. 2-3)

What happens when you try to scroll below the 3 lines? Do you get the message that you can't scroll unless you are in Park or something else?

So, with the "Browser Enabled", are you getting the Full BMW Live as follows?
- Web browser
- News
- Weather
- Google Local Search
- Street View
- Panoramio

I don't get any error or nothing. Some just seem to display only the subject line, others the 3 lines, and some the entire body.

Has anyone tried and disabled the mirrors from auto dimming at night that I posted?

Folks,

We had a nice Coding Session in H-Town today.

I think there were 8 of us total, with 3 of us coding. Unfortunately, because we all live on Hell's 1/2 acre, we gathered under a large bank's covered parking area to escape the sun, and that didn't create much of a photo op. My 535i, and one 535i GT were awash in a sea of 550's, and one drop dead gorgeous MY 2012 650i Vert.

Take aways:

- Sport Displays will not work with the N63 Engine, and that includes the 650i. It's hopeless.
- TPMS continues to be hit or miss, working for some, and not for others, with no known commonality in cases where it does not work. There's hope though.
- My next F10 will have a HUD with the Extended Black Panel (wasn't available in 10/10) and the Side/Top View Cameras.
- If I hit the lottery, scratch my next F10 as I am getting an F13 650i or M6.

Yeah F12 are drop dead gorgeous especially with the upgraded Nappa leather. The upgraded LEDs headlights are insane. It's a work of beauty. My fully loaded E93 looks bland after driving it, coding it and admiring it! Lol

quick question guys, Has anyone used a laptop running windows XP to do the coding ?

OK Guys this is how we can get the SLI working

1) ICM----->3000 Daten, F8----->C_KBV_KAFAS2_verbaut (Change to verbaut)

2) Replace Kafas (CAFD_00000122) with kafas2(CAFD_00000BD5)


This is it! i need all the help i can get here boys.

Can some body tell us how can we flash the issue with a different file
