e-sys links are on post 47. use the password to access the real links
after download you have to look into the nfo (use notepad to view) and download psdzdata from rapidshare Is there a way to export the coding? I'm thinking that if we share them, we could find something new. On google I found some trc files, but I think they are from NCS. Last edited by hans_gregor; 05-14-2012 at 02:48 AM. |

Coding cable
Can anyone tell me if the cable I found on Amazon is the cable which is needed to do the coding?

@jcsayville; Unless it specifically states BMW E-Sys Cable or BMW Enet Cable, I would avoid it. While that has the right connector ends on it, the Pinout may be different, and it may not have the 511 ohm resistor. I would ask them for a schematic or Pinout diagram at the minimum before purchasing to verify its construction.

Has anyone seen an option (I know I'm really dreaming here) to have a clock displayed on the iDrive (I don't mean the little one in the banner, but one that is LARGE so my wife doesn't keep asking me the time)?

My car is a September 2010 F11 Launch car. The istep code is: F001-10-03-500which seems to be for an F07 but I can't find an exact corresponding ISTA/P version in any of the documents posted online. Any ideas as to what the version is?

@mrashton; Did you get F001-10-03-500 from examining your profile xml file? I can't cross reference that exact Integration Level; however, since it is from March 2010, it should be around ISTA/P 2.37.x.

@shawnsheridan; yes, this code came from my profile XML file thanks for the reply. It will be interesting to see what options I get to configure when all hooked up.

Lost in the weeds
You computer guys are amazing. I am just an old fart that loves his 550i with a stage two Dinan upgrade more than any other car I have ever owned. I am following your ideas to some extent, and wonder if you can reprogram the moon roof button to operate like the windows, or my 335D. Specifically I would like to push the button past the second detent and release and have the roof go all the way to the end of its travel, both opening and closing,,,,WITHOUT having to hold the button the whole time as it is now. Anybody available yet in New England to do coding? If so, I'd be a happy ginea pig, as long as it doesn't interfere with Dinan's software.
5/16/2012 Update,,,,,my car is a 2011 550i made in 8/2010. it has ZAV,ZCV,ZCW,ZP2,ZSP,2TB,5DL,AND 610, and my moon roof does not respond to quick clicks or the like. Anybody interested in helping me figure out if it can be made to work like everybody else's? Keep Pluggin' guys......... Last edited by dodgedieselguy; 05-16-2012 at 05:19 PM. @NeedsDecaf
Are you sure ? I hope you read the entire post of DodgeDieselGuy... If you realease in between.... the door stops! you have to hold it until it opens/closes completely.. I would be surprised if it is working otherwise for you! Last edited by DreamCar; 05-14-2012 at 06:36 PM. |

Ok. I am confused on the Moon Roof issue. On mine, with the switch in the first detent, it stops moving whenever I let go of it. In the second detent, I let go of it and and it continues to fully open or close. I do not have to hold the button.

Yes, yes YES!!!!! It's working!!!
The first time you change a parameter it's a little daunting, but once you get comfortable with it, its extremely easy!!! Thanks Shawn, you've been more than patient with my PM's Here's my first mod;

@hans: Mine aren't working, either. What model F10 do you have? 550? I wonder if there's another Efficient Dynamics prerequisite that we're missing, since our cars aren't exactly "efficient". I haven't seen the additional ECO PRO animations, either.
I also tried enabling the Torque Distribution function but that is inop.

New things i have noticed...
1) Auto Stop Start memory is overided when you move the toggle to ECO PRO (I mean when you move the toggle to eco pro the auto stop start is enable automatically) 2) There is a setting for controlling ther interior lighting under HU_CIC---3000HMI---Color lines/color switch.. i see the options like classic/sports/luxury etc:- but i cannot select them. 3) and there is something called comfort opening under same ECU Last edited by DreamCar; 05-14-2012 at 07:23 PM. |

@Alex_c; I'm glad you are finally up and running. I see you also have HP and ft lb. What gives? Am I the only one on stuck in kW and Nm?
@wdimagineer; Did you enable EFF_DYN_SYS_CID for the additional ECO PRO animations? And are you saying with EFF_DYN_SPORT_CID, the Power and Torque meters appear, but do not work at all?

@Shawn: I'll enable the SYS toggle and report back. Currently the gauges display but do not function/show data when driving or revving the engine.

I guess the EFF_DYN_SYS_CID is the standard Efficient Dynamics displays (ECO PRO, etc.). By the way changed my Auto Start/Stop to Default=OFF. This way, A.S.S. only works if I am in ECO PRO mode, not in any other mode. That is the way A.S.S. should've worked all along! I think I just programmed all the standard goodies: Blikers on HUD, Close windows/trunk, remove disclaimers, Sport Displays, etc. By the way, if you go from Comfort to Sport mode, the Sport Displays (HP/Lb.ft) will display automatically! Very, very happy with all these changes.
