Panoramic Sunroof

Hey Guys,

Looks like I am going to be the new owner of a 2013 X3 28i.

I am really excited, but curious if anyone has had any issues with the panoramic sunroof? I know in the past with the 5 series, if the sunroof drain holes get plugged, that can cause pooling in the car which can lead to fried electronics.

Still early after nearly 4 months, but it has worked perfectly. Looks great and no problems with wind noise or leaks.

Have had mine just over a year with no problems. I honestly don't think things will start to crop up until more time has passed so it will be hard to say. Of those who have had their X's since they came out in 2011, I have not read of any water issues yet directly related to the sun roof drains.

I've had mine a year with no issues. I wouldn't be without it.

There have been reports of problems, mostly squeaking, but a few leaks too. Mine has been fine.

Mine will be garaged and used mostly for running around town. Should be parked inside 90% of the time, so I am hoping to avoid any issues.

There will always be problems reported on the internet. I've had a gearbox problem but I wouldn't recommend getting an X3 without one! If you want a pano, get it.

I thought about saving money and not getting the moonroof. But I ended up buying in stock and my x3 came with it. It makes the car looks nicer. Friends go wows when I open the moonroof. Compliments are worthless. Definitely recommend !!

there's a fellow in Toronto on bimm_rpost.com that has had repeated pano roof issues on his 2011. He's still trying to get the leakage problem sorted out.

My personal preference is a conventionally-sized sunroof but I guess no such luck for this body.

if the roof wont close all the way, just give it time for car to run to charge the battery during delivery
