pcbrew's F30 335i Sport pickup thread
I was able to get my pickup time moved ahead and am checked in and waiting in the premium lounge. I did get on a plant tour - they are running later (1pm) as there is a warning strike until noon.
I wandered over to look out at the delivery area and saw my car next to an M3 vert. So, here is a pre-delivery picture. Looks like one of those first uncovered spy shots from Spain. Will post more after delivery. Thanks to a Bimmerfesters who helped with advice and answers.

Coming from '02 E46 330i. Hope I can master the idrive while I am here. Did a victory lap but could not drive it out since the plant workers are on strike across the street.

Congrats on the car Buddy !! Looks like it's pretty quiet in the Welt ... must not be such a busy day for them .... or at least because it's morning time... and plus with the strike, which probably is keeping peeps away from visiting the Welt .
Please continue to share with us the rest of your trip !! Looking forward to seeing more pics, and hearing from.. EDIT: the i-drive is easy to master, you will have no trouble !! Coming from a 96 E36 328i, i had no trouble either way

Nice car. I've always been impartial to blue. Any pictures of the strike?

Thanks for posting the pics. I'll be ordering Imperial Blue also, it's a gorgeous color, looks better in person than in photos. I've been waiting to see a picture of a non-Luxury model to see how it looks with the black window surrounds (still looks good, but I think the chrome works better with the dark color).
Hope you will post some pics of the interior. I haven't yet seen any good pics of the Everest Gray. If I were getting Sport, that's definitely what I would choose, but I'm getting a base model so it'll be the beige.

No pics, sorry. There were a few guys in blue overall/shorts combo getting sodas and beers at the ubahn station when I got there in the morning. At the pickup, I could see them lined up along the street but couldn't get a good pic. The gal giving the tour claimed these were supplier sub-consider, not real BMW employees. Who knows, there were not that many along the street, maybe 200. The factory was back working in the afternoon when we did the tour.

I am going to try to post some pics but connection is bad so am going to post one at a time and edit/add.
First - pics of someone else's car. I headed out towards the Berchtesgaden area on A8 and stopped to get gas, vignette, a bottle of water and sunglasses, which I had forgotten to bring (did not feel like springing for the 100 € models in the gift shop). As I got in my car, I was approached by a somewhat scruffy guy who asked to borrow the screwdriver from my tool kit to fix a water hose (hose clamp). But, turned out he needed flat blade and the kit only has phillips. I had remembered to throw in a set of various bits and a screwdriver handle to remove the triangle brackets and let him borrow it. I got the vignette applied then walked down to where he was working and saw his car was an old BMW 502. So, pics of the 502 that I indirectly helped continue its journey. Stayed in Schonau-am-Koniggsee above Berchtesgaden. I managed to catch the sunset on the mountains Fri night while walking back from dinner. Sorry, no car as I was enjoying the local Hefeweiss, but I got the same view this morning with the car. Also shows the big change in weather, rained a good part of the day as I drove the Alpenstrasse to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Next is from a place above Aschau im Chiemgau where I stopped for lunch and also one from Vorderriss, halfway along a shortcut I took on the last leg to GP as I was getting tired. The small building in the background just above the car is a toll booth, as this is a private road. I encountered 2 of these on the drive today. These were both fairly narrow roads and with no center stripes it was 'fun' when encountering oncoming traffic. I stopped along this road for a bio break and just as I was about to pull out, a brace of 8 Porsche's - all modded and fairly loud swept by going the opposite direction and followed by a Cayenne that looked like a support car.

So what is the deal on cleaning out the car at dropoff?
My delivery guy at the welt told me to take everything loose, including the uninstalled trunk net - not a big deal but also told me to take the license plate brackets. I thought the VDC needed them as they installed them. Just worried if I take them and they need them, it could cause a delay in redelivery.

Pull the shaft out of the handle, reverse the shaft and put it back in the handle. Voila! Flat blade screwdriver!

Here are some interior pics. It's hard to tell how accurate the color is as I know my laptop screen isn't so hot.

Nice interior shots. The grey leather looks so much nicer in the F30 than the E90. If the grey leather in the E90 had come with black carpets I would have gotten it for sure. The thought of keeping grey carpets clean made me ball up into the fetal position.

I just dropped off the car.Dinner in Munich this evening, then train to Frankfurt and flight in the morning. Will try to post some pics from today but won't be for 24 hrs (until I get to the lounge in FrA Tue morning). The weather finally cleared in GaPa and I could see the mountains. I saw several F30's and an M3 waiting and the truck just arrived for pickup. Mine won't make that one but should make it out tomorrow.

I put about 530 miles on mine. I also want to note that the recommended 4500 rpm limit for breakin does allows 200kph (124mph) in 6th gear.

I just put the VIN in on the WW tracking site for grins and the info popped up!
Car is scheduled to leave today 5/23 on the Grand Mercury, with ETA to Brunswick, GA on 6/11!

I'm also on the Grand Mercury. I picked up the car at the Welt on April 19, drove 1200 miles through Northern Italy and Provence, and dropped my car off in Geneva on April 30, so that makes it 23 days between drop-off and departure from Bremerhaven. Looks like I could have done better had I dropped it off in Munich, but I really had a wonderful vacation, so I shouldn't complain.
Incidentally, the Grand Mercury departed Bremerhaven on May 23, and is now in Zeebrugge (Belgium). ETA New Jersey on June 6.
