Bluetooth Adapter

I have an app on my tablet and cellphone called, Torque. Its an engine management program that links to the ECM via the OBD II port. The adapter is then linked to the tablet/cellphone via bluetooth. It worked fine in my Honda, but the adapter will not see the ECM on the BMW.
Does anyone use this program, and if so, what bluetooth adapter are you using?
