Help Needed With M70 engine
Hey everyone, I have some problems with an M70 v12 engine. I can't get it to work, and neither does the mechanic..so, it's like this:
It all started with some oscilations when the engine was at idle. So i changed the cables to the spark plugs, but then ..i think that was the begining of the end. I started the engine, works fine, brilliant actualy, I turn it of and want to start it again...it doesen't start. I pulled out the spark plugs and they were soaking wet. I vuned them until they were ok, I started the engine and it worked like brand new but as soon as I stoped it the same story again and again. Does anyone know or have an ideea about what the problem could be ?? Sorry for my bad engilsh , I havent't written anything in a while ![]() |

Is it oil, gas, or water on the plugs?
If fuel it sounds like the injectors are leaking or continuing to flow fuel.

It gasoline on the plugs. I was thinking that it might leak fuel, but why ? A gasket, a malfunctioning injector ? 1...2...3...but all 12 ?

Part of the answer may depend on what kind of spark plugs the engine has in it. The Bosch Platinums with the tiny electrode are prone to flooding on start and missing at speed. Most of the other aftermarket magic plugs are the wrong resistance for an ignition system that only puts out 12k volts.
If it is warmed up and has the wet restart problem it may be one of the temperature sensors on the back of the enging "saying" it is still cold and calling for start level fuel (rich).
