e39 Noise
I`m kind of obsessed about the noise my car is making, I made 2 videos and posted them on youtube. I have an e39 2171cm M54 engine with 170bhp
First noise problem I have is one I hear from outside of the car, especially when I have the hood closed I can hear it from the wheel arch. It`s a ticking sound The second problem, when I get into my car in the morning, theres a weird sound coming from the back of the AC Control Pannel, sounds like a worn out PC fan If any of you guys can help me I would appreciate it Thanks in advance |

1. I'd guess VANOS or lifter noise. The VANOS assembly can develop play which can cause the noise. See www.beisansystems. com.
2. The IHKA panel has a fan inside to measure cabin temperature. The fan blades can collect dirt, esp if you are a smoker. Remove the cup holder panel, and reach up and push out the IHKA panel. Clean and lube the fan.
