From July, the BMW Z4, which converts from a coupe***769; to a roadster in no time at all (even while traveling, at speeds up to 40 km/h) thanks to a retractable hardtop, will offer a new optional feature as a visual refinement of the tasteful kind - the BMW Individual hardtop in contrasting colors.

There is a choice between the BMW Individual hardtop in Black non-metallic for a sportier look or in Titan Silver metallic for more elegance. Whatever the choice, the contrasting roof and body colors underscore the effect of the roadster silhouette even with the roof closed.

So, retractable roof up to 40km and two-tone. The car looks sleeker on the back and front.

To me, the two-tone cheapens the look.

I agree it is a questionable choice however I'm more concerned with the LCI to the back and the front.
Also, wouldn't it be great if they put a HuD as part of the update?!

The updated roof mechanism is already out in Europe. If our Z4 had been built two weeks later, it would have had it.

You can buy a smartTOP and be able to convert your existing Z4 to be able to open and close the top up to 40kph.



It does other cool stuff as well. Installed mine about three weeks ago and I love it.

I see the buying guide came out without pricing. No changes to the 2013 according to it. But surely there must be some cosmetic differences between a MY '13 & previous year?
