Am I The Only One???

Ok so I have a 2004 2.5 and I have a weird model that does not have power seats, cruise control, steering wheel buttons, digital air/heat, and ARMREST.

I absolutely love this because instead of having one cupholder and an armrest i have Two cupholders and Two storage 'squares'

Does anybody know of a X3 without the armrest??

The base model with no options is what you seem to be describing.

That's a vehicle without the Premium package in the US. Doesn't make it any less of a great car to drive. BMW tried a European pricing structure back then and it didn't work in the US.

ahh ok I have never seen another one like mine before and it was driving me crazy.

When mine was in the shop for the week I HATED driving my moms because i had to put my phone and ipod in the passenger seat if i had a drink but with the two cupholders and storage space on my x3 i can have two drinks, ipod, phone, and my massive spare change collecion

Those fit in the door pockets. BMW made them out of mesh for a reason, to fit waterbottles. Works pretty well actually.

i'm actually pretty OCD about my mesh door pockets. i don't like there being too much stuff in them cuz i don't want the netting to get all stretched out and nasty.
if i can find black door panels from an LCI model, i'd buy them so i wouldn't have to deal with the netting anymore.

I love the nets! You can put all kinds of stuff in there and it doesn't rattle around like it does in the hard pocket door storage cubbies. The water bottles fit perfectly and the nets keep them secure -- and out of the direct sunlight. Also remember there are two other cup holders in your rear seat arm rest that can be easily reached and used by the driver or pax if needed. Have used my nets since '06 (new) and have no sagging problems.

Only as of 09/04 production. (Or if you swap out to a newer head unit)

I will take a look, thanks azn, you have a lot of good/informational posts on here. I wonder if you knew that off hand, because if you did, you are a dedicated mofo.

I have a 02/04 build and was sort of disappointed that it didnt have the capability (my father doesn't listen when I tell him "order a new 2005 instead of taking a leftover 2004"). There were quite a few updates in model year 2005 (09/04 builds) including Bluetooth capability.

Last August the CD player stopped ejecting the CD- common problem- so I was lucky enough to find someone to swap their Business CD headunit from their 2007 X3. When I received it, it was a 09/06 built unit. I did the swap myself, took about 15min plug and play. Now I have the mp3 capability which is nice, although it's clearly an afterthought implementation versus some of the newer BMW systems. Beats nothing though, yet another little mod that makes my X3 a bit unique and thus I'm reluctant to let it go.

My 04 X3 2.5 is a bit different as well. I have power and leather seats but the manual A/C controls. I also have the PDC which does not work well. Cruise control but no OBC. No sunroof (a good thing). I guess the original owner wanted specific items.
