An odd find...

This may get folks riled up - in my searching, I've come across one of the more unusual combos. Alpine white with Chestnut interior. I actually like the Chestnut interior, but I know that it's not a favorite of folks in the forum.

Luckily, the car doesn't have nav or sport!

I am not either, you wrote Arctic White, I thought maybe it was a custom color.

It's a senior color! You can only get it when you get older and your mind starts to wander.

Sorry 'bout that.

A belated "thank you" for this, dealio.

Curious about this item -
S544A GESCHWINDIGKEITSREGEL. MIT BREMSF. Cruise control with brake function

Is that the adaptive cruise?

And this means the car has the M Sport package, as opposed to the "normal" Sport?

S704A M SPORTFAHRWERK M Sports suspension

If the car has the M Sport package, I thought it got different Sport wheels. Aren't these the normal Sport wheels.

Lastly, is this just the standard 2011 radio?

S663A RADIO BMW PROFESSIONAL Radio BMW Professional

Again, thanks for your help and patience!

My 2011 has Cruise control with brake function and I'm sure it will plow into the car ahead if I don't intervene. So I don't think this is the adaptive cruise.

Same radio as mine and I don't have HK. But my 2011 does say "S676A Hi-Fi speaker system". So this one looks to have the standard sound system.

Yes, different strokes for different folks. There are some people who think RED is an ugly exterior color.

I think faded red is ugly, beyond if/when that happens it is a nice color. I own 20 year old red car and had it repainted at some point in time because it faded over time. Interesting enough I have cars with much older paint jobs that have not faded or is not as noticeable if they have.

Yeah, I don't think I will have to worry about mine fading because I barely drive it. I know what you are talking about though. I don't like the faded red either.

What is strange is red seems like the only color that does it or that I have experienced it with. Good friend of mine used to own an older red 3-series coupe and he eventually gave it to his parents. They got into a fender bender and the paint shop could not match the red due to the fading so they just repainted the entire car.

3 series with the sport suspension and low profile run flats have more problems with bad roads; 3 series sport suspension vehicles are more susceptible to blown tires and bent rims than vehicles equipped with the standard suspension. I suspect that the sport suspension ride is harsher as well.

And replacement tires are more expensive for the sport wheels. But in spite of all the bad things you can say about the sport package, I love the sport seats!

No doubt you go through tires and straighten rims, but it is a lot of fun to drive! That's why I bought insurance.

You could always swap seats if the seats are your must have reason for the whole package.

Seats are a really simple thing to swap out of the car unless there is some "technical" reason why a sport seat can't be bolted into a non sport car and not work. Which actually would not surprise me given how over complicated somethings are made. I'd imagine nice ones can be found without a ton of effort given how many 3-series over X amount of years were sold with them and how many of those cars probably long since been wrecked.

An Omen?!?!

I tried to post some pix of a 335d i saw, yet they wouldn't autoresize. I never did anything special before. They were all WAY too big.

Has something changed?

Last edited by Maybe335d; 06-05-2012 at 09:00 PM. Reason: Drawing weren't auto-resizing like they usually do.

Interesting Sighting

I really don't go out of my way to find Chestnut interiors - they seem to land in front of me. (Manually resized them.)

Was out of the loop for awhile, family things took me away, but flew back into town last night. Go to get into my car after having the parking folks bring it around, and this is what is parked next to me!

I thought that the Space Gray with Chestnut was VERY sharp in person. I waited around about 15 minutes to speak with the owner, but unfortunately, they were apparently delayed.

Have been focused on Sport models only, but this made me appreciate the base configuration more.

Pardon the iPhone quality in an underground garage!

Love my space gray metallic but have gray inside as well. I don't think chestnut and space gray go together. At least, not from a color wheel standpoint. Dark blue exterior would be my thought concerning correct color combo with chestnut.

Space gray metallic rocks even with chestnut. Not as much as titanium silver but it still rocks!

The first D that I test drove had the Grey/Chestnut combination. While not intuitive it turns out to be a superb color combination. I ended up with silver/black as that was the only color available with the options I wanted. I love the color combination I have, But I would have been very happy to have had the grey/chestnut. It is unique and very "cosmopolitan"
