language change on computer

Hi all
I have just purchased 2004 x3 with built in sat nav (flip up screen on top) it still had the old firmware on. so being clever I downloaded the v 32.2 firmware and installed and 2011 'High' maps. All went well but the writing is in german as well as the sat nav instructions. I have been told when you do the firmware update, the default language is automatically installed, but this cant be right as car is UK model. Is there another way to change the language. When the firmware has updated.. the screen shows 3 x languages-geman (female) gb (female) and some other one and informs you to remove the firmware disc and to press ok.... but you cant select any of these, you can only press the button which acknowledges 'ok'
I cant find any sites to reload alternative firmware... in which case can i download to a lesser one? any help would be greatfully accepted. There is a guy selling the firmware and maps discs and dont want to buy these to go through the whole process again if there is a simple fix... otherwise I may have to buy as he has confirmed these should do the trick.
