E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Option 840 - Increased top speed limiter

I was under the impression that option 840 - Increased Top Speed Limiter only came with option # ZMP - M Sport Package for the 2013 135i's.

To my surprise when I received the build sheet from the factory on my 2013 135i that option 840 - Increased Top Speed Limiter came with my 2013 135i at no charge even when I did not choose option # ZMP - M Sport Package.

Option 840 - Increased Top Speed Limiter allows for the installation of the the PPK Version 2 Power Kit. I immediately ordered the PPK2 as well, which will be installed port side.

Has anybody else experienced this? i.e., getting option # 840 when they did not order option # ZMP?

Thanks ! !
FYI: My 2013 135i has every option except for option # ZMP - M Sport Package.

The top speed governor of modern BMWs for the US is dependent on the tires installed from the factory. As the 135i comes with summer tires fitted as standard, I'd expect them to allow for the 240km/h limiter.

Thanks for the information, I was under the impression that I was receiving mixed performance tires because the car comes with the standard 18" Rims (Style 372).

But more importantly, do I also get the additional oil cooler? I believe it should be located behind the front wheel well on the passenger side of the car? .... and if if the additional oil cooler is not there, how will the BMW techs at the BMW Port VDC install the Performance Power Kit Version 2, i.e., the engine performance software upgrade as in the PPK Version 1, plus an Auxiliary Water Cooler and the Enhanced Radiator Fan?

Thanks.
