2013 X3 Differences between 2012

Apart from the engine differences and the additional option package, what are the other more subtle differences between the 2013 and 2012 X3s? Thanks!

I went through the list with my CA and there is very little different. They even kept the same wheels with each package, for example. One of the only things I remember is that the auto rear hatch opener is standard now where it was a $300 option in 2012.

Other differences I've seen and heard about...

o Front grille is black on 28i, silver finish on 35i
o Lane departure warning is now available
o I think 19" wheels are now standard on 28i?
o Throttle response issue (tip-in) has been resolved

I'm not aware of any other differences. Aside from the front grille, I don't think there were any cosmetic changes.

According to BMW press releases, the 2013 28i and 35i both get these new base items...
- Powered Tailgate
- AutoStop/Start
- Driver Dynamics Control — adds Eco Pro
... and this new optional package:
- Driver Assistance (ZDA) — incl. Lane Departure Warning
In addition, the 28i gets these items as standard — previously standard only on the 35i:
- 18" wheels (up from 17") —19" wheels are the new standard for the 28i with the optional M Sport package
- chrome tailpipe tips

I guess we'll have to wait until 2014 for Blind Spot Warning to be offered. How well does that work on other BMWs that offer it?

There are a few minor differences in iDrive as well. For example, "Weather band" is no longer available under the Radio menu (I don't know why they would take this away, but they did), and there are now "Sport Displays" and "Efficient Dynamics" screens under Vehicle Info. I wonder if these changes will be rolled out to previous model years with software updates.

They removed the weather band? That's odd. Or is it just in a different place in the menu?

I have yet to download a 2013 X3 manual. Links on BMW USA site are still broken for the 2013 version.

It's definitely not under the Radio menu, and someone over on bimmerpost said his CA told him it was no longer in 2013's. Here's a link to the thread:

The 2013 manual is in the iDrive but I too would like a searchable PDF of the 2013 manual.

I've submitted a technical request to their website. Still waiting for them to fix the problem. I'll post here when I see it available.

Found a great thread on more subtle differences and features in the 2013 X3 on the xbimmers site (some stuff in the manual, some not)...
