I wanted Alpine white for our F10, but ended up with Space Gray as my husband picked the color. We just leased an E93 and this time I got the Alpine white that I wanted for the F10. The vert is beautiful in white.

Moonstone is a beautiful color too. Shame they charge ridiculous prices for such a simple color.

Now that you have seen the light with regards to Alpine White, I have try to convince you to select the Venetian Beige interior. The two colors go really well together.

Venetian Beige - CHECK

Bigger question though - do you regret not getting the sports package? I think the car looks fine with the standard wheels and the chrome window trim and I drove non-sport cars and didnt really feel like anything was missing as far as DDC. The one issue I did pick up on immediately was the steering wheel - felt thin and hard versus what Im used to. I'm going to get the comfort seats anyway, so the savings is about $2300 if I don't get the sports package.

The 3 series actually has a metallic white called Mineral White Metallic. It's very nice. I like it better than AW.

That is brilliant white (metallic white), not moonstone.

The main reason that I did not get the sports package was the 19 inch low profile tires. My prior ride was a Jaguar S Type with 40 sidewall low profile tires. I paid about $4K to replace the tires & rims. Had I not done this, the Jaguar would have remained in the garage because of the unreliable low profile tires. I avoided a repeat of the problem by staying away from the sports package with the 535. That being said, I agree with you about the steering wheel, but you do get used to it.

White is BMW's racing color so that is probably one of the big reasons why people think all BMW's look good in white :

BMW should have called it black emerald....green metallic flake seems the dominate colour.

Yes, this is a big concern for me too, though its seems that the consensus is the non-X-drive models are far less at risk - to the point of having essentially no risk materially higher than any other tire.

What about Dynamic Damper Control? seems like its almost a must have if you read the related posts - I'm thinking I'm better off not driving a sport package model at all if I like the standard version well enough....best not find out what I'm missing if I don't go with sports package.

WHITE!

You gotta get it on the Merc, though.

Seriously, although it's unfortunately getting too common, certain designs truly pop extra with white. My E's white is a much more cream/off white than BMW's, and I don't know if that helps it or hurts it in terms of looking clean, but it does look clean almost always, and it's VERY hard to see swirls or defects. Even dents on white cars seem generally harder to spot. I love the off white depth of the Mercedes white, but also like BMW's sharp white as well. Another great thing about non metallic whites, is that they are simple to color match, while metallic's are far more difficult.

I was really close to going White on my 2011 E350, it happened that the dealer got in a Palladium Silver with the exact options I wanted (how often does that happen) and I thought the Palladium was nice combo. Surprisingly, the current E-Class body style is one of the first cars that I didn't think looked its best in black - still looks, OK, but for whatever reason, black doesn't seem to do much for it.

I agree, something about the new E when in black and totally stock just doesn't look right. Even the proportions and lines seem distorted by it. However, even slightly modified, I've seen some black E's that have dropped my jaw. It's worth mentioning, that I don't like black cars unless really dressed up and thematic, as they hide the lines and details of the design, and of course, get crazy dirty and show everything!

I'm a car nut who devotes tons of time to my car, however at the same time, I'm lazy and like to take the easiest way out WHILE assuring meeting my own rigorous expectations.

I got the multi-contour seats stand alone option as I didnt want to deal with the 40 profile tires on the sport package. The standard steering wheel is thin, but the sport package one is not much thicker, only in the thumb grip part. The M-sport steering is much thicker, I am thinking about switching to the M-sport steering wheel, anyone know how much that cost? Dont forget to get the upgarde audio, as well as the premium package.

you're all a bunch of white car-driving evil sods. Not satisfied with your fragrant display of Alpine White, you have to assimilate others into your culture and best part is, these poor saps (Im one of them) think its THEIR idea....

I submitted my build to the dealer - Alpine white.....

As for the sports package, I'm going to reserve final judgement until I go down to make my deposit. As of now, its in the build and priced as such, but I'll make the final call at the dealership.
