1998 528i 5spd MID DSP Audio Question
Been searching around the board for what I can do with my stereo. I posted some stuff under Silver540i6's posts, but...
My set up is: MID radio with DSP and tape player. I have the Timeport phone as well. It is clear that I need to do something with the speakers. If I stay OEM, Champion777's approach seems good. DennisCooper! seems to have some sound advice. I want to thank you guys and the rest of the board for helping out. Most people say go with new stuff. But... I know I can upgrade to a full screen system, m53 radio and MKIV nav, but that's too much money for antique equipment and I don't care for builtin nav. Can I upgrade to the m53 radio and get a new head unit or something less than the nav and stay oem? What additional functions would that provide? Just a aux port? Looking forward to your comments.

Some have been pleased with upgraded speakers. Search this site for recommendations.
